Sheffield United must ensure that it does not lose its unbeaten run in the Championship when they play their second game on the trot at Bramall Lane on Saturday. This will be against this weekend's visitors to Bramall Lane who have had a decidedly mediocre run this season, bringing with them a sorry return to the second tier of the English football league after enduring a bad campaign in the Premier League last year, where they came off at 20th spot, 10 points behind the host team.
Despite two-point deductions hitting them, Sheffield United sit at third place, having won five and drawn three of their eight games played so far. The team is also defensively solid, as they have conceded only three league goals up to now-the lowest in the league. They have therefore blanked their opponents in their last five games, including four consecutive wins.
Having finished their last two victories over Watford and Hull City as well as a remarkable victory over Derby County at their tail end, Sheffield United could only draw against Portsmouth last weekend before regaining their winning form by defeating 1-0 Swansea City on Wednesday. Although the 16 points gained so far by the side put them just two points behind league leaders Sunderland despite their point deduction.
Sheffield United Head to Bramall Lane on Saturday searching for another win, but more importantly looking to maintain their lack of defeat, as well as a resolute defence.
Sheffield United Expected Lineup
Cooper; Gilchrist, Souttar, Ahmedhodzic, Burrows; Souza, Peck; Rak-Sakyi, O'Hare, Hamer; Moore
Luton Town Form
Their visitors are yet to recreate success at Championship level following relegation at end of last season from the Premier League. Luton Town could gather only eight points from their first eight league matches in a bid to return to the elite stage. Only Preston North End and Cardiff City have netted fewer goals than Luton, while just four teams have conceded more goals than them.
Although Luton Town managed to pocket both their first-ever wins in September, against Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday, the side went ahead to lose 3-1 to Plymouth Argyle in their last game. They could not continue with the winning trend as they drew against Oxford United after going 2-0 up in the first half.
Sitting 20th in the Championship, Luton Town is now just one point above the relegation zone and seven adrift from a valuable climb in the top six. They would dearly like to wrap up an important win before their international week at the weekend.
Luton Town Expected Lineup
Kaminski; Burke, McGuinness, Mengi; Moses, Krauss, Nakamba, Doughty; Clark, Adebayo, Brown
Sheffield United v Luton Town Tips
Luton Town has been somewhat competitive in Premier League than the hosts for this upcoming encounter, but Sheffield United has relatively adjusted to playing in the Championship again. We think the Blades will go on in this weekend's match with an unbeaten streak and maintain a strong defensive record.
