Reading, managed by Paul Ince, has been sliding down the Championship table due to their poor performance at the beginning of 2023. They have not earned a single win this year in the second tier. On Saturday, Patrick Roberts' 84th-minute goal secured the win for Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, leaving Reading still unable to collect points on their away games. The Royals are currently in 18th place with 38 points from 30 matches, which is not a dangerous position, however, their struggling form needs to be resolved soon. The team's performance has been hindered by numerous injuries, especially in the central positions, causing a shortage of players and forcing centre-back Tom McIntyre to play as part of the midfield.
Reading’s possible starting lineup
Lumley; Yiadom, Sarr, Mbengue; Hoilett, Ince, McIntyre, Hendrick, Baba; Long, Carroll
Rotherham United’s Form
Rotherham's recent form in the Championship has seen them remain undefeated in their last four matches, with the latest being a 0-0 draw against the Seasiders at Bloomfield Road. Manager Matthew Taylor will be pleased to see his team keep back-to-back clean sheets for the third time this season, but it is victories that will be crucial in securing their place in the division. Currently sitting in 20th place, Rotherham has a four-point cushion over Wigan Athletic, who occupy the first of the relegation spots. However, this lead is being threatened by the improving form of Shaun Maloney's Latics. Rotherham has struggled to produce an attacking threat on the road this season, scoring only nine times in 16 away games, fewer goals than any other team in the Championship.
Rotherham United’s predicted lineup
Johansson; Peltier, Hall, Humphreys, Bramall; Odoffin, Coventry, Rathbone; Ogbene, Hugill, Fosu
