Queens Park Rangers' struggles at Loftus Road persisted last weekend against Watford in the Championship. Despite a late goal from Lyndon Dykes, Jake Livermore's double in the second half sealed another defeat for the hosts. This extends QPR's winless streak to eight games in both the Championship and FA Cup since December 16. The team currently sits in 23rd place in the league standings, five points behind Huddersfield Town in 21st and only three points ahead of bottom side Rotherham United. To avoid relegation to the third-tier, QPR will heavily rely on the attacking abilities of Ilias Chair and Chris Willock, who have contributed to nine goals this season. The team's poor record at Loftus Road is not limited to their recent losses, as they have only earned nine points from 13 home league matches, the lowest among all Championship teams, with only 12 goals scored.
Queens Park Rangers Predicted Lineup
Begovic; Cannon, Dunne, Clarke-Salter, Paal; Field, Dixon-Bonner, Willock, Dykes, Chair; Armstrong
Millwall form
Millwall's undefeated streak of five games in the Championship came to a disappointing end at their home ground, The Den, last Saturday. They were defeated by promotion-contending Middlesbrough, who made a spirited comeback and left with all three points. Joe Bryan, the Lions' wing-back, who has experienced promotion at this level during his time at Fulham, gave his team the lead after 10 minutes. However, Middlesbrough turned the game around with goals from Lukas Engel, Isaiah Jones, and substitute Marcus Forss.
After a strong push for a top-six finish under Gary Rowett last season, Millwall's goal under Joe Edwards this term is to avoid a relegation battle. Currently, they are sitting in 16th place in the Championship table with a comfortable 10-point lead over Sheffield Wednesday in 22nd place. While the eight-point gap between Millwall and sixth-placed Coventry City is still within reach, the team needs their attacking players to regain their form from last season. Tom Bradshaw and Zian Flemming have only scored eight goals combined this season, compared to their combined total of 32 goals in the 2022-23 season.
To address their defensive issues, Millwall announced the loan signing of Japhet Tanganga, a center-back from Tottenham Hotspur, on Thursday. Tanganga brings valuable Premier League and Champions League experience from his time with the North London club.
Millwall Predicted Lineup
Sarkic; McNamara, Harding, Cooper; Longman, Saville, Mitchell, Bryan; Watmore, Flemming, Nisbet
Queens Park Rangers vs Millwall Expert Tips
QPR's performance at Loftus Road this season has been extremely poor, particularly in recent weeks. However, we have a strong belief that players such as Chair and Willock have the potential to lead the team to victory this weekend. On the other hand, Millwall has suffered consecutive losses in the last two weeks. Therefore, we anticipate that their losing streak will persist in the upcoming and eagerly awaited London derby on Saturday.
