Preston North End, under the leadership of Ryan Lowe, have had a successful start to the 2023-24 Championship season. They have been unbeaten in the first five games before the international break. In their opening match against Bristol City, they secured a 1-1 draw with a late goal from Will Keane. Although they were eliminated in the EFL Cup by Salford City, they have since won four consecutive matches in the second tier of English football. Their first victory of the season was a 2-1 win over Sunderland, with goals from Keane and Mads Frokjaer-Jensen. They then continued their winning streak with a 1-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday, courtesy of Liam Lindsay's goal. In a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Swansea City, Preston won 2-1 with goals from Andrew Hughes and Duane Holmes. In their last game before the break, they defeated Stoke City 2-0, with Keane scoring both goals. With their strong performance, Preston is currently leading the division and will aim to maintain their momentum with another victory in their upcoming match, extending their unbeaten run to six games.

Plymouth Argyle form
Lowe's former club, Plymouth Argyle, has had a successful start to the new Championship season, following their promotion from League One. Under the guidance of Steven Schumacher, who took over after Lowe's departure in December 2021, the team won the title in the third tier last season with an impressive 101 points from 46 games.
Plymouth made a strong return to the Championship with a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town at home and a goalless draw against Watford away. However, their momentum was halted as they suffered back-to-back defeats in agonizing fashion, losing 2-1 to Southampton and Birmingham City, with both winning goals coming in injury time.
Despite an exit from the EFL Cup at the hands of Crystal Palace, Plymouth managed to bounce back with a convincing 3-0 win against Blackburn Rovers in early September, with goals from Finn Azaz, Ryan Hardie, and Luke Cundle.
With seven points from five matches, Plymouth will look to build on their positive start as they face their former manager and current league leaders in their upcoming game.
Plymouth Argyle Predicted Lineup
Hazard; Edwards, Pleguezuelo, Gibson, Kesler-Hayden; Houghton, Randell, Mumba; Whittaker, Hardie, Azaz
