Plymouth Argyle is a loser in the fourth defeat in eight games in the Championship under the manager Wayne Rooney. They lost 1-0 against Burnley. Although a defeat was the outcome, there is an acceptance that Rooney is making his mark at Home Park. Home games for Plymouth have been narrow losses rather than reverse fixtures as they have won over Sunderland and Luton Town. Such home form will be pivotal this term as the Greens have lost only once in their last seven league away matches at the showpiece.
Plymouth Argyle Predicted Lineup
Grimshaw; Edwards, Szucs, Gibson, Mumba; Whittaker, Gyabi, Randell, Hajj, Cissoko; Hardie
Blackburn Rovers Form
Blackburn can get a dent in their morale as they lost 3-0 against Coventry City. And what that proves is that any team can beat another on the given day in the competitive second tier of English football. Despite having recorded three successive clean sheets ahead of the Coventry match, Blackburn have missed the chance to top the table and must now reboot themselves. Blackburn have scored in just three of their last 12 Championship matches played, and that in both instances against Coventry.
There must be many questions being asked about the form of this young side and perhaps Brighton's decision not to offer a long-term contract to Ezequiel PKKoeski will pay in dividends. Following on from last week's devastation, the Bees must beware of a fired-up Rovers who will seek to capitalize on the misery being experienced at Ewood Park.
Blackburn Rovers Predicted Lineup
Pears; Carter, Batth, Hyam, Pickering; Tronstad, Travis; Hedges, Baker, Dolan; Gueye
Plymouth Argyle v Blackburn Rovers Expert Predictions
Rooney might look to mix his full-backs, since he is still contemplating recalling Joe Edwards and Bali Mumba back into the Plymouth starting line-up. The same starting XI is most likely to be used since Rooney feels that his team has moved far enough to undertake this approach. Blackpool are likely to shuffle the pack after their defeat at Coventry, and a host of possible attackers return including Makhtar Gueye. Lewis Baker and Ryan Hedges are in contention to come into the side, while Yuki Ohashi could be one of the attackers who makes way. Owen Beck will again be unavailable through suspension having been sent off at Preston North End. Unlikely to catch one on the break, of course against this highly ambitious Plymouth, with a good home game, Blackburn are up against Rooney's charges that have been putting up a resilient show at home. We, however, believe Rovers will still prevail in a tough match with another late goal in the run of play; Plymouth, pushing forward will have already exhausted its chances by then.
