When Johannes Hoff Thorup was unveiled as the new head coach of Norwich, he was presented with the immediate task of trying to provide a response to his team's dismal conclusion to the previous season. He probably did not anticipate his side conceding five goals to both Oxford United and Stevenage—a statistic that does little to hide the enormity of his task. In Norwich they have a club who lost 2-0 to Oxford one week and won a seven-goal thriller 4-3 against Stevenage the following week. There was at least the mitigation that all four goals came in the first hour, even if they were twice forced to come from behind against their League One opponents. This victory also ended a run of six games without a win, so expectation is now great that a victory will come at Carrow Road for the first time since April 6 when they take the field on Saturday.
Norwich City Predicted Lineup
Gunn; Stacey, Hanley, Duffy, Doyle; Nunez, McLean, Gibbs; Kamara, Sargent, Sainz
Blackburn Rovers form
Under John Eustace since his arrival in 2024, Blackburn has really gotten off to a great start to the season. In total, they have scored 10 goals, winning both against Derby County and Stockport County, despite letting in three. Speaking of the result and not the performance, he is quite happy with the outcome of being able to score more than once in no time at all. Even if he does exit Ewood Park, some new faces in the offing might be able to keep the surprise element going in the current season for Blackburn.
Predicted Lineup Blackburn Rovers
Pears; Brittain, Carter, Hyam, Pickering; Travis, Tronstad; Rankin-Costello, Dolan, Hedges; Szmodics
