After narrowly missing out on a playoff spot last season by just one point under the guidance of Gary Rowett, Millwall entered the new Championship campaign with the goal of once again contending for a top-six finish and potentially securing promotion to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation in 1990.
In their season opener, Millwall faced Middlesbrough, a team also aspiring for the playoffs and finishing fourth last season. Millwall started off on a high note, securing three points with Romain Esse's solitary goal in the 11th minute at the Riverside Stadium. However, they haven't been able to maintain that performance in subsequent matches. They suffered back-to-back defeats against Bristol City and Norwich City, and then managed a crucial 1-0 victory against Stoke City thanks to Kevin Nisbet's goal in the first half. They followed this with a 1-1 draw away at Birmingham City, where Nisbet once again scored the opener, but Jay Stansfield equalized in the second half. Their most recent match at home against Leeds United ended in disappointment as they lost 3-0, with Joel Piroe scoring twice and Georginio Rutter adding a third.
Now, Millwall is determined to put that disappointment behind them and regain their winning form, especially on their home ground. The pressure on Rowett is increasing, and a victory in their upcoming match is crucial.
Millwall Predicted Lineup

Rotherham United form
Rotherham United will be hoping to recover from their recent defeat when they face Millwall. Rotherham has only managed to secure four points from their six matches so far this season as they try to avoid relegation under the management of Matt Taylor. Their season got off to a disappointing start with a 4-1 loss against Stoke City, followed by surrendering a 2-0 lead at home against Blackburn Rovers. Despite taking the lead through Hakeem Odoffin and Fred Onyedinma, Rotherham ended up with a 2-2 draw due to Sammie Szmodics' quickfire brace in the final 15 minutes. The following weeks saw Rotherham suffer 2-1 defeats against Sunderland and Leicester City before being knocked out of the EFL Cup with a 6-1 defeat to Stoke. They managed to secure a crucial win against Norwich City before the break, but fell short in their recent game against Huddersfield Town. Currently sitting at 21st place with just four points, Rotherham is eager to avoid falling behind early in the fight for survival and will aim for a positive result against Millwall.
Rotherham United Predicted Lineup
Johansson; Lembikisa, Humphreys, Blackett, Bramall; Rathbone, Tiehi, Odoffin; Green, Hugill, Onyedinma
Millwall vs Rotherham United Expert Tips
Confidence levels at The Den are currently low following Millwall's difficult beginning to the season. However, the team still possesses considerable skill, and we believe they will make a comeback at their home ground against a struggling Millers side on Wednesday. Expect home side to win in a low scoring affair.
