Having gained promotion from League One last season, Ipswich Town have had a fantastic start to their return to the second tier under the management of Kieran McKenna. They currently sit in second place with 31 points from their first 12 matches. Out of those games, they have won 10 and suffered only one defeat. They have scored 26 goals, with only league leaders Leicester City scoring more, and have conceded just 13 goals, which is the fewest in the league. They have also built up a nine-point lead over third-placed Leeds United. Despite having played one game less than the other top half teams in the Championship, their recent match against Rotherham United was postponed due to Storm Babet. However, they returned on Wednesday and secured a 1-0 win against Bristol City, making it three wins in a row. With a comfortable lead in the automatic promotion spots and a five-point gap to Leicester City, Ipswich will aim to continue their winning streak and make it four wins in a row when they face the team that beat them to the League One title last season.

Plymouth Argyle form
Saturday's visitors went over the 100-point mark to secure the top spot in England's third tier, coming in three points ahead of Ipswich Town. Despite a loss to Ipswich at Home Park and a draw at Portman Road, Plymouth Argyle has had a challenging start to the Championship campaign. Currently, they are fighting towards the bottom end of the division with 11 points from 11 games, including three victories and six defeats. However, their recent performance has been impressive. They earned a respectable draw against West Bromwich Albion and broke their four-match winless streak with a convincing 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. As a result, they have climbed to 18th place in the standings, six points clear of the relegation zone and just three points away from the top half of the table. Plymouth Argyle will now aim for their first away win of the season as they continue to improve their position.

Ipswich Town vs Plymouth Argyle Expert Tips
Last season, Plymouth demonstrated their ability to compete against Kieran McKenna's Ipswich team. However, this season, the hosts have significantly improved and we believe it is unlikely that Plymouth will be able to halt their progress, especially when playing at Portman Road. We expect under 3.5 goals in the game with the hosts doing most of the scoring.
