Liam Manning, the manager of Bristol City, has only secured five wins in his 14 matches in charge, leaving some supporters unconvinced of his suitability for the job. However, Bristol City demonstrated their potential under Manning's leadership by defeating West Ham United 1-0 in the FA Cup. Tommy Conway scored an early goal, leading to a surprising victory for Bristol City. They will now face Nottingham Forest in the fourth round. Despite this success, Manning is aware of the team's need to focus on their league performance, as they are currently four points behind the top six. Bristol City's recent three-match winless streak, including losses to Millwall and Preston North End, as well as a lack of goals, has contributed to their current position. Despite their victory against West Ham, Manning may make some changes to his starting lineup for Bristol City. Sam Bell and Jason Knight may be brought back in at right wing-back and in a creative position, taking the places of Ross McCrorie and Matty James, respectively. If Mark Sykes is deemed fit after his hamstring injury, he may be included on the substitutes' bench, and Scott Twine may also only be selected as a substitute.
Bristol City Predicted Lineup
O'Leary; Tanner, Vyner, Dickie; Bell, Williams, Gardner-Hickman, Pring; Knight, Mehmeti; Conway.
Watford form
Watford has recently overcome a period of inconsistency and returned to winning ways, securing victories over Chesterfield and Queens Park Rangers. The FA Cup win against Chesterfield proved to be more challenging than expected, but Watford's manager, Valerien Ismael, was pleased with the resilience shown by his players in that match. The victory over QPR was also achieved with a 2-1 scoreline, with Jake Livermore scoring both goals. Watford is now just one point away from the playoffs and Ismael believes in his team's ability to continue their impressive away form, having earned 13 points from five games. Ismael may choose to field the same Watford XI that won against QPR, with only substitutions being made to defend their lead. However, there is a possibility that Mileta Rajovic may replace Rhys Healey in the attack, and Ryan Porteous and Ismael Kone are both pushing for a recall.
Watford Predicted Lineup
Hamer; Andrews, Sierralta, Hoedt, Morris; Livermore; Asprilla, Dele-Bashiru, Chakvetadze, Martins; Rajovic.
