They began their journey with a toothless stalemate against debutant Mali. The result was followed by a more convincing (1-0) victory over Mali U23. After firing nineteen shots with just a goal, the Young Egyptian failed to take advantage of ten Malian men. Egypt played very well but couldn’t convert their chances and got lucky as Mali U23 hit the post once.
The Egyptians have been one of the best sides in Africa and were one of the few that represented Africa in the Olympics 2020. Egypt were knocked out of the competition in the quarterfinals by Brazil. Since then, they have been exceptional and are unbeaten in the last fourteen games. Egypt U23 are the best in Africa, and we are confident they won’t lose here.
Gabon U23
The young Gabonese have had a slow start to the tournament, with two defeats in two matches. Their opening game ended in a (3-1) victory for Mali despite scoring first in that encounter. The result was followed by a loss against Niger as they failed to convert any of their chances. Niger scored from the spot kick and protected their lead.
The 2011 AFCON champions have scored once in this competition while conceding four times. Gabon U23's problem lies in their inability to find the back of the net, and we can’t see them breaking the Egyptian defence.

It’s going to be another boring encounter, and we expect it to end in a total of under 2.5 goals for 1.63.
Egypt are likely to win before the break for 2.19.
