This matchup is to be an exciting one for Palmeiras fans as these teams have never faced each other previously as this is Independiente Petrolero’s 1st season in the CONMEBOL Libertadores. Independiente Petrolero are 7th in group B of the Primera division (Bolivia) and Palmeiras are 17th in the Brazilian Serie A although an important detail to consider is that the season has only just begin with Independiente having played 8 games and Palmeiras only having played 1 which they lost 3-2 against Ceara. It is important to note that Palmeiras are also the defending CONMEBOL Libertadores champions.

They have also drawn their 1st match in the CONMEBOL Libertadores against Emelec. They have scored 10 goals this season whilst conceding 15 in the league. Although this will be a very difficult game for them to win one should hope that they would do enough to make it difficult for Palmeiras.
