Attacking midfielder, Teofilo Gutierrez scored a nice goal thanks to an assist from Luis Sandoval. Edwin Cetre equalized in the 44th minute with a perfectly placed penalty conceded by Jefferson Diaz with a handball in the penalty box. However, Deportivo Cali restored their lead back just three minutes later when Jose Ortiz scored an own goal. Independiente Medellin made two changes during halftime and one of the substitutes, Brayan Muniz assisted Diego Moreno to bring the scores level in the 51st minute.
