CR Belouizdad vs Al Ahly Prediction: The Red Devils will get it right this time against the hosts

In this second leg of the CAF Champions League, CR Belouizdad will host the defending champions, Al Ahly at the Stade de July 5 1962 Stadium on Friday. The highly anticipated match will see both sides fight for the top spot in the group. The Red Devils have invested in their team during the winter, and with some reasonable rest for the team, we expect a solid display from them against their opponent.

CR Belouizdad (Algeria)

Marco Paqueta's men have had a missed start to the competition, with a win, a draw, and a defeat in their last three games. The Red and White march here with a (0-0) stalemate in their most recent match in this competition against Al Ahly on the road. 

Since their last meeting, things have been moving in the right direction for the hosts, with one defeat in their previous eleven games in all competitions. 

The four-time quarter-finalists in the competition are yet to win the title. They were eliminated by the Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals last season but will be hopeful of advancing to the next round. 

Al Ahly (Egypt)

The Red Devils have been decent since the start of this campaign; they have won twice and won once in three games. Their most recent encounter in this tournament ended in a toothless draw on their ground against CR Belouizdad—a game where they created few chances and failed to convert them. 

The Red Devils sit at the top of the log, with five points from a combined nine, and a defeat might hinder their hopes of making it to the knockout stages. 

Al Ahly have been prevalent in the Egyptian Premier League, winning a record forty-three titles, and have also enjoyed success on the continental stage, winning the CAF Champions League ten times. 

Al Ahly head into this competition after being knocked out by Mamelodi Sundowns in the AFL but quickly bounced back with two wins and a draw in their domestic league. 

Al Ahly are the present champions of the CAF Competition but must be careful against the home side who can be very difficult at times. 

Expert Betting Tips

The reverse leg ended in a toothless stalemate between both sides as CR Belouizdad failed to get a shot at goal. Al Ahly are the most expensive and experienced side in this competition. They have a squad that can hurt any side in the continent but have not really lived up to expectations in this year's CAF Champions League edition. 

CR Belouzidad on the other hand look beatable and have not really improved their squad during the winter transfer period. I'm trusting the visitors to at least walk away with a point here considering the quality of their team.

This game will likely end in a halftime draw for 1.96.
