Bahia vs Internacional Prediction: Both teams are in bad form

Bahia and Internacional haven't won for some time and are falling in the table. The Baianos are winless for three games and have gradually dropped to seventh place after a few rounds at the top of the Brasileirão. Inter is in an even worse situation, as it hasn't won for 11 games, including matches in the Copa do Brasil and Copa Sudamericana.

Bahia

The Salvador side is going through its worst period of the season just as the Brasileirão reaches the halfway point. After two straight defeats at home, Bahia was under pressure to get a good result away to Atlético Goianiense. The Baianos had plenty of possession but had lately lost the creativity that used to characterize them. The Goianos opened the scoring in the 60th minute through Luiz Fernando, the team's star, but Bahia miraculously managed to equalize in the ninth minute of added time through Jean Lucas. Rogério Ceni's men celebrated the equalizer effusively, and often, a late goal boosts the players' morale for the following match. The Steel Squadron will now return home and try to make amends for the two defeats suffered in front of its fans.

Internacional

The elimination from the Copa Sudamericana against Rosario Central further aggravated the crisis of the Colorado. Inter needed to beat the Argentinians after losing 1-0 in the first leg but could only manage a draw. Rosario scored in the 20th minute through Sández and went into the break ahead. Alan Patrick, the team's maestro, equalized in the 49th minute, but the Gaúchos couldn't score any more goals. To make things worse, Patrick suffered a knee injury and will be out of action for two months, joining several injured colleagues. Coach Roger Machado has just arrived in Porto Alegre and won't have an easy task ahead of him.

Bahia has been struggling against very defensive teams and is not scoring many goals lately. To improve the team's attack, Bahia announced the signing of striker Luciano Rodríguez, one of Uruguay's most promising players. The transfer cost 12 million dollars and is the most expensive ever for a club from the north-east of Brazil. It's unlikely that the 21-year-old will play against Internacional, but Bahia is still the favorite. Internacional is in terrible form, but I will bet on a Double Chance in favor of Bahia with a maximum of three goals scored.
