Argentina’s third placed Argentinos Juniors came away with a 0-1 home win over Unión Santa Fe in their most recent match. Oroz gave the visitors the lead in the 6th minute and the game was decided early. They had a golden chance for them to come back in the first half; Lescano failed to score from a penalty at the 21st minute that could have given Unión a chance to come back. Although they had 50% possession and 15 total shots, their lack of finishing proved too costly. It was more than particularly wasteful; their attack was eight shots wide. They were pretty poor defensively, allowed seven shots on goal and their keeper had to make four saves to keep the score from worsening. They also have a home loss to deal with, as they’ll need to prove strong against Instituto.
Instituto (LWLW)
And on the flip side, away defeat saw Instituto go down 1-0 to Platense. However, they were almost never attacked; only one shot on target all through the game. Platense drew level on possession rate at 47%, but in the absence of creativity and urgency out front they really did not muster a chance. Platense scored in the 56th minute and Instituto failed to make an impact. They never managed to bust into the final third but had a good amount of control in the midfield, which is something entirely positive. However their defence was fairly solid, their goalkeeper made four crucial saves to avoid a bigger defeat.
Expert Betting Tips
For Unión Santa Fe and Instituto, this will be seen as winnable fixture. The better offensive numbers and home advantage may suit Unión Santa Fe while Instituto will be counting on an improved attacking display. At home they are marked as tad favorites given Unión Santa Fe’s more active attack. But while Instituto seem capable of locking away three points if able to better their inefficiency inside the box, it isn’t as efficient as the way they operate as a unit when defending, and that’s potentially a tight and low-scoring affair.
