In the previous round, Central Córdoba was defeated 0-1 by Unión Santa Fe. They had more of the ball (53% possession) and more of the passes (312 to 253) but it was not only difficult, it was impossible to create real danger in the final third. The team had only a single shot on target among eight attempts and created no major chance of its own in the match. It was their best period, arguably, when they pushed on, and went high, but Unión’s compact defensive set up was tough to crack. The problems of inefficiency at the other end of the pitch, as well as creativity, still need to be addressed ahead of this home fixture for Córdoba who have three yellow cards, and very little xG (0.56).
Huracan (WDWDW)
Goals and momentum swings abound in a match that the two teams used to play out to a 3-3 draw: Huracán v Aldosivi. The team responded well to going a goal down early before the break via a penalty, and Miljevic netted to level it. Sequeira ended up having a field day in the second half, scoring two goals in a space of just a couple of minutes, which allowed Huracán to go 3-1 ahead. In doing so, Aldosivi came from behind late. Huracán had 61% of the ball, 12 shots (4 on target), 0.81 xG and 4 shots on target. But their problems when facing counter attacks and the closing stages of games are also noted. But the spark they have in their offensive attack (though they always had from Miljevic and Sequeira), they always need going forward.
Expert Betting Tips
It would also be unfair to say that Central Córdoba play any better than Huracán are, but their disciplined, yet toothless performance is the complete opposite of what Huracán tried to produce. The approaches clash and therefore a match could be open and unpredictable. Huracán meanwhile, will be fresher, more fluid and menacing in their attack than ever from their last game away from home. Central Córdoba need to improve their offensive form to avoid conceding, and remaining in the contest altogether.
