AEK vs Olympiakos Prediction: AEK are marching toward the title

From 8:30 p.m., the other two rivals for the title will also meet, AEK will host Olympiakos. The red and whites have not defeated the current champion in the last four meetings, in two of this season's matches at this stadium they played 1:1, while in January at the "Yorgos Karaiskakis" stadium it was 2:1 for the yellow and black. Olympiakos suffered a heavy defeat in the last round at home by Panathinaikos, but they made a huge comeback in the Conference League, and it lowered the pressure on the players.

The current champion and leader AEK from Athens have 62 points, five points, five points more than the fourth-placed Olympiakos. Panathinaikos is third with 59 points, one less than PAOK. AEK aren’t playing in any other competition, so the league is their main focus until the end of the season. In the last round, the won 4:0 against Lamia away, and this match is their first true test in the playoffs.

The defeat after they took the lead, against Panathinaikos in the last round was for the second time in a little over a month. At the beginning of February, the result in Athens was 2:0 thanks to the scorers Bernardo and Eremef. With the triumph in Piraeus, Panathinaikos overtook the rival, took the third position, and remained three points behind the leader AEK. Olympiakos fell to 4th place, still with a chance to win the title, but many things must change for it to happen. Meanwhile, they are in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Conference League where they will face Fenerbahce after they magically won against Maccabi Tel Aviv 6:1 away.

Only one playoff round has been played, nine more to go. All four competitors will meet each other many more times, each round will bring at least one derby, so it is difficult to predict who is closest to the title. But, considering the current form and previous matches this season I can say that AEK are closer to winning in this match in which I expect interesting, fast football and many goals as it was the case in most derbies in Greece this season.
