The start of this split for Wave Esports did not turn out to be the worst. The guys picked up their opening match with a win against SK Gaming Prime. Next up was a resounding defeat against Schalke 04, but that mindset didn't carry over into week two. The second week started with a nasty defeat against BIG, but a good win, over MOUZ left the boys on even terms. The third week started with an upsetting defeat against Eintracht Spandau. At the end of the week, Wave Esports also lost, only this time, against E WIE EINFACH. The boys go into week four with a score of 2-4. Their opponents for this game week will be GamerLegion and PENTA 1860, who currently occupy the last two lines of the overall standings.
Wave Esports' history is rather short and amusing. The Australian organization announced its appearance in the League Of Legends discipline in April 2020, but it disbanded a month later and went inactive until May 2021. Then they buy a slot in the Prime League from ad hoc gaming and buy out players. And so the Prime League Summer 2021 begins. Wave Esports tried fighting and showing the same results as former ad hoc gaming. However, at the end of the season, the matches' statistics were 5-13. Thus they lost the slot for 2022. However, the organization did not give up and assembled a new squad and managed to qualify and get into this season.
Wave Esports completely failed in the spring season, picking up their first win only in the fourth game week, which ended up being their only win. With a 1-17, Wave Esports finished in 10th place before changing three players before the summer split.
GamerLegion: The end of the losing period?
The start of the season for GamerLegion didn't go too well. In the opening match of this split, the boys faced BIG, whom they should have beaten with no problems, but after losing an important brawl on Dragon, GamerLegion gave up the lead and then the game. On the second game day, Mouz didn't even give the boys a chance of a close game, destroying their opponent in 25 minutes, thus sending GamerLegion to an 0-2 scoreline from the start of the season. It cannot be said that it was the new ADC's fault, as they showed a pretty good game in both meetings. In the second week, GamerLegion gave Eintracht Spandau the win in a close encounter, and on the second game day, the boys lost to E WIE EINFACH. The third game week also started with a defeat. This time GamerLegion lost a point to the boys from UOL Sexy Edition. In the last match of the third week, they interrupted their losing streak of 5 games with a hard-fought win against PENTA 1860. This week GamerLegion will face Wave Esports and SK Gaming Prime, which will be problematic to defeat.
GamerLegion has been active in the Prime League since 2018, but they didn't do particularly well at first. The 2018 season saw the team finish in 9th-12th place. The following year this was repeated, but in the 2020 season, the squad shot up, finishing 3rd at all three splits, 9-12th at the spring EU Masters and 2nd at the summer EU Masters. Everyone was very pleased with this result, so for the 2021 season, there was no change in the squad, but the results were very different. The team finished in 5th place at all three splits, thereby missing the EU Masters. For this season, 4 replacements were made, leaving only Visdom. Such a sharp substitution worked, securing GamerLegion first place in the Spring Split of 2022, but at the EU Masters, the boys only finished in 9th-11th place. Before the summer split, jinjo left the organization and was replaced by Nata from the NLC league.
