This split started very well for Team Liquid. After defeating Immortals without giving up a single kill, the guys set themselves up victoriously for this super week. The second game day went just as well. Dignitas didn't battle Team Liquid, who beat them in 25 minutes. The third game day of Week 1 was also good. Cloud9, though, tried to do something, but it wasn't enough. The second week came out a little worse. The guys made many mistakes, losing to TSM on the starting day of week two. Currently, Team Liquid is going 3-1 in the overall standings. The guys took the match with FlyQuest, coming closer and closer to first place in the standings. At the beginning of the third week, Team Liquid could do nothing against 100 Thieves, falling to fourth place in the overall standings. After that defeat, however, things only began. At the end of the third week, Team Liquid defeated CLG, and at the beginning of the fourth week, they continued the winning streak, defeating Golden Guardians and reaching second place. At the end of the week, Team Liquid faced Evil Geniuses, who didn't allow the guys to get first place in the standings. At the beginning of the fifth week, Team Liquid quickly crashed Immortals, but that didn't help the guys to reach the first line in the standings. The match against CLG was not good, and Team Liquid gave up their victory. On week 6, the guys confidently beat TSM but lost to Cloud9. Week 7 came out very well. After hitting FlyQuest, Team Liquid loaded up, then beat Evil Geniuses, Dignitas, and Golden Guardians. In the last match, Team Liquid lost, but the organization came out in second place in the Championship. The first opponent for Team Liquid will be FlyQuest, whom the guys should easily overcome.
Team Liquid is a multiplayer team organization founded in the Netherlands in 2000 as StarCraft: Brood War. In January 2015, they merged with Team Curse (not Curse Gaming). In 2015, Team Liquid acquired Curse Gaming to enter League of Legends. This squad finished third in both the spring and summer splits. Team Liquid placed first in the regional finals, but lost 1-3 to Cloud9 and did not qualify for the World Championship. In 2016, the lineup would lose 2-3 against Counter Logic Gaming and 0-3 against Immortals in spring 2016, leading to a 4th place finish. The lineup underwent various changes again in the summer, leading Team Liquid to a 5th-6th place finish in the summer. They then lost to Team EnvyUs 0-3 in the regional finals, leading to another missed world championship. In the 2021 season, they won the Lock-In tournament and finished 2nd in the spring season. Team Liquid would take 2nd place after an 0-3 loss against the 100 Thieves. By taking second place, they went straight into the group stage of the 2021 World Cup. At the 2021 World Cup, Team Liquid finished 12th-13th along with LNG Esports after a tiebreaker loss against Gen.G, whom they defeated and posted a 3-3 record. This extended Team Liquid's 3-3 streak at the world championships to a fourth straight year.
The spring split for Team Liquid came out great. After taking first place in the overall standings, with a score of 14-4, the guys started their playoff run. After beating Evil Geniuses 3-2, Team Liquid lost to 100 Thieves 3-2 in the next round, dropping to the bottom of the table. There Evil Geniuses avenged their defeat by beating them 3-0, thus sending Team Liquid into third place. Before the summer split, the organization did not make any substitutions.
FlyQuest: Only Sixth Place
The summer split for FlyQuest started well. Having beaten Golden Guardians in their opening match, the guys were set to go 3-0 after the first game week, but Immortals were able to turn the second game day around in a close encounter, thus sending FlyQuest to 1-1. The third game day didn't go well, either. Evil Geniuses again dominated in a head-to-head meeting, leaving FlyQuest trailing 1-2 at the end of week one. The second week started much more confidently. After defeating Counter Logic Gaming, who went 3-0, FlyQuest gained confidence in the upcoming meeting against Team Liquid. And confidence helped the guys. FlyQuest gave an excellent fight to Team Liquid but still lost, thus leaving the score at 2-3 at the end of two weeks. The week began with a crucial win against Dignitas, after which FlyQuest came in fifth place, scoring 3-3. At the end of the week, FlyQuest defeated Cloud9, which gave the guys confidence, and the score was 4-3 after the first three weeks of play. Week 4 started with another resounding victory. This time FlyQuest beat the 100 Thieves, who made only one kill the entire game.
At the end of the week, FlyQuest made the mistake of giving the win to TSM, thus ending their winning streak. At the beginning of week five, FlyQuest defeated the Golden Guardians, moving into fourth place in the overall standings. Towards the end of the week, the guys easily defeated Dignitas, which improved their position in the overall standings. Week 6 FlyQuest failed, losing to Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses. The seventh week also failed. Guys lost to Team Liquid and CLG, but on the super week were able to win all three games, thus entering the playoff stage from fifth place, but lost to Cloud9 in the match for fifth place, thereby FlyQuest took sixth place in the overall standings. The first opponent for FlyQuest will be Team Liquid, which will be pretty challenging to beat.
FlyQuest (FLY for short) is an American professional eSports organization founded by Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wesley Edens and Fortress Investment Group in December 2016 that is currently participating in League of Legends. FlyQuest debuted in the NA LCS 2017 spring season after purchasing a spot in Cloud9 Challenger, which was moved to the LCS through a promotional tournament. Their first lineup was formed when they were joined by 4 Cloud9 Challenger players, Balls, Hai, Altec, and LemonNation. The former Team Liquid player and analyst Moon came to complete the lineup. In their first split, the team made the playoffs, where they finished in 4th place, defeating Counter Logic Gaming in the quarterfinals, losing to Team SoloMid in the semifinals and Phoenix1 in the 3rd place match.
FlyQuest finished the spring split pretty well. After losing the tiebreak for fourth place to Evil Geniuses, FlyQuest went into the playoffs in fifth place, 9-9 overall. The playoffs themselves were not very good. Facing Evil Geniuses again, who lost their match in the top net, FlyQuest could do nothing, finishing in 5th-6th place in that split. Before the summer split, the organization replaced one player.
