World Championship 2022 is the major LoL tournament of the year. The 2022 edition of the premier international LAN tournament takes place in the United States and Mexico and features 24 teams from around the world. The prize pool for the event, which will take place from September 29 to November 05, 2022, is $2,225,000.

Sunday, November 6 will see the Grand Final of the World Championship 2022. Two Korean teams T1 and DRX will face off to decide the winner. The meeting is scheduled to start at 03:00.

T1

T1 is approaching the final battle as the top favorite. Few predicted that T1 would make it to the finals with their play in the LCK Summer Split, but even fewer believed in their ability to reach the DRX Finals.

T1 easily won the group, losing only once in six games, and unexpectedly to Fnatic. It is noteworthy that the reigning world champions EDward Gaming could not oppose anything against T1.

DRX

The sensation of a team that everybody had already buried in this tournament, but the fourth Korean team was able to do almost impossible thing and reach the final of the World Championship, having started at the Play-In stage. Reaching the Worlds 2022 Grand Final is the best achievement for an organization, and to lift the coveted trophy over their heads, you have to do something incredible again. DRX's path to this final looks fantastic. They miraculously made it to the Worlds through regional qualification, overcame the meat grinder of the Play-In stage, defeated the RNG (the reigning MSI 2022 champions), emerged victorious from the group stage and are triumphant in the playoffs.

The Koreans from DRX were the real sensation of this World Championship quarterfinal. Their opponent was the reigning world champions, the Chinese EDward Gaming. No one was betting on the success of the fourth Korean team DRX, especially when they started to lose 0-2 during the BO5 series. But they showed another miracle, winning three maps in a row and knocking last year's champions out of the tournament.

The semifinals were to be played against the reigning LCK champion, Gen.G Esports, and with this team, not only could they not win the series, but there were problems with winning a map. After losing the opening map, DRX players won the next three, shutting down the unbeaten champion of their region 3-1. This team is capable of a miracle, but will it be enough to handle T1?
