On Sunday, July 24, the second day match of the fifth week of the League of Legends Championship Series 2022 Summer tournament will take place. Golden Guardians and Cloud9 will clash.
League of Legends Championship Series 2022 Summer (LCS 2022 Summer) is the second split of the tenth year of the professional League of Legends in North America. Ten teams compete in a round-robin group stage to advance to the playoffs for a $200,000 prize pool and a trip to Worlds 2022. This split takes place from June 17 to August 14, 2022.

This split didn't start out too well for Golden Guardians. Having lost in the opening match against FlyQuest. Golden Guardians improved, and in the second match defeated Cloud9 in a fairly tense game. The third game day was also tense, but this time CLG won, thus sending Golden Guardians to a score of 1-2, at the end of the first game week. On the first day of the second week, the boys faced 100 Thieves, who gave the boys no chance to go out on a 2-2 score. On the final day of week two, the Golden Guardians beat TSM, thereby going 2-3. On the first day of week three, the guys defeated the Immortals in a blowout, coming in fifth place overall. At the end of the week, Golden Guardians failed to Evil Geniuses, which sent the guys to rest with a bad mood. Week 4 began with the defeat against Team Liquid, which further dampened the guys' spirits. At the end of the week Golden Guardians easily beat Dignitas, which put them in a tie for sixth place with Cloud9. At the beginning of week five, the guys played against FlyQuest, who took the meeting for themselves without much trouble. Today Golden Guardians will meet with Cloud9, which will be quite a problem to win over.
Golden Guardians is an American cybersports organization run by the NBA team Golden State Warriors. Golden Guardians is an NA LCS franchise organization created by Golden State Warriors. After finishing 10th twice in its debut year, the team restructured and has made the playoffs 3 times since then. In December 2019, the team rebranded, removing blue from their branding and changing their logo to the one we know today.
Golden Guardians did not play well in the spring split. After ending up in sixth place, 9-9, they made the playoffs, but lost 3-0 to Cloud9 in the first round, leaving them in 5th-6th place. Before the summer split, the organization replaced only one player.
Cloud9: It's Time to Pick Up the Pace
In the opening match of the summer split, Cloud9 lost in a very tense struggle Evil Geniuses, which ruined the the guys' mood for the next super week. The second match was a disaster for the guys, they lost to Golden Guardians, and the third game day repeated the second one. Cloud9 lost to Team Liquid, thereby recovering to a score of 0-3, at the end of the first week. The second week Cloud9 started with a tense comeback against Dignitas, which ended their three game losing streak. Then, Cloud9 easily defeated 100 Thieves, returning to the game after a disappointing first week. At the beginning of the third week, the guys had no problem beating CLG, going from 0-3 to 3-3, which is much nicer. At the end of the week Cloud9 could not defeat FlyQuest, which broke their winning streak of three games, but later the guys regained the winning spirit, beating TSM, setting 4-4 in the overall standings. At the end of the week, Cloud9 unexpectedly lost to Immortals, dropping to sixth place. At the beginning of the fifth week, the guys easily beat Dignitas, moving up to fifth place. Today the guys will meet the Golden Guardians, who can just as easily be outplayed.
Cloud9 (C9) is a North American eSports team created by the former Quantic Gaming team after its dissolution. Cloud9 started out as a small League of Legends team. Since they first qualified for the LCS, Jack Etienne, the current owner and general manager, decided to pick up the team, and since then it has grown exponentially over the years. The team is a 4-time NA LCS champion, 7-time medalist, and one-time World Championship semifinalist.
Cloud9's spring split finished perfectly. The boys' score was 13-5, advancing to the playoffs from second place. The playoff stage itself turned out a little worse for Cloud9. After losing to the 100 Thieves, 3-0, Cloud9 fell to the bottom net. There the boys beat Golden Guardians 3-0, but fell 3-0 to Evil Geniuses in the next round, thus finishing 4th in the spring split. Before the summer split, the organization sent Fudge to another position and replaced one player.
