This split has gone very well for G2 Esports. The guys had a smashing first week, winning all three matches where G2 Esports tried to stop Astralis, Rogue, and Excel. In the second week, the boys were less fortunate. G2 Esports lost to Team BDS in a tight encounter, thus losing their win streak of three games won. At the end of the week, G2 Esports woke up, thus beating Team Vitality quite easily, and began to contest first place with Excel. The third week for G2 Esports didn't start off particularly well. The guys lost to MAD Lions in a tense meeting, thereby losing their chance to break away from first place. At the end of the week, G2 Esports also lost to Fnatic, which dropped them even lower in the overall standings. At the start of Week 4, G2 Esports suffered their third defeat in a row. This time they were beaten by SK Gaming, who had their player back after an illness. At the end of the week, G2 Esports lost to Misfits Gaming, thus losing their fourth game in a row, making them 4-5, at the end of a four-game week. Today, G2 Esports will face Astralis, who are also going 4-5.

For G2 Esports, the phoenix rebirth that the team has needed for quite some time is now underway. Initially, things have been pretty good Since 2018, G2 has not only started to make it to Worlds, but they've also started to take the podium, getting closer and closer to the trophy. In 2019, the Europeans were stopped by FunPlus Phoenix in the final, who took the meeting 3-1 on the maps, and in 2018 and 2020 G2 Esports was ranked 3-4, but that all changed in the 2021 season. Perkz was replaced by Rekkles, who previously played for G2's direct LEC trophy rival Fnatic. Only this replacement was not good for the German organization. After finishing 3rd in the spring split and 4th in the summer split, G2 Esports failed to qualify for Worlds for the first time since 2016. After this embarrassing defeat, management decided to make global replacements, leaving only Jankos and caPs in the main roster.

G2 Esports signed Broken Blade, who previously played in LEC for Schalke 04 and in LCS for TSM, as well as two young players who came from EU Masters - Flakked and Targamas. With the renewed squad, G2 Esports made a solid start to the 2022 Spring Split, going 5-2 at the end of the third week. After finishing the season 11-7, and finishing fourth in the overall standings, G2 Esports advanced to the playoff stage. The playoffs did not start well for G2 Esports. Their 3-1 defeat at the start of the match at Fnatic sent the Europeans to the bottom of the table, but the magic really began there. Team Vitality, Misfits Gaming, Fnatic, and Rogue lost 3-0, thus G2 Esports headed to MSI 2022. The Mid-Season Invitational itself started very well for G2 Esports. They made it through the group stage without a loss, but the Rumble stage was the first time they ran into trouble. After finishing third in the Rumble stage, G2 Esports made the playoffs but lost to T1 in the first round. There were no line-up changes before the summer split.

The start of the split was very good for Astralis. Although G2 Esports dispatched the boys to a 0-1 score in the opening match, things went much better from there. On the second game day Team BDS could not compete with the guys, and on the third game day, Astralis had to sweat. In a difficult encounter, the guys scored important points against Misfits Gaming, thus going to a score of 2-1, at the end of the first game week. Astralis continued to shine in the second week. With a win, against SK Gaming, the boys took first place in the overall standings, with a score of 3-1. The end of the week was less pleasant. After losing to Rogue, Astralis fell to third place in the overall standings, 3-2. Week 3 started with a loss against Fnatic, dropping the Astralis to sixth place in the overall standings, but it wasn't over yet. On the second day of the third week, Astalis lost to Team Vitality, thus reaching the score of 3-4, at the end of three weeks. Week 4 began with a break in the losing streak. After defeating Excel in a tight encounter, the Astralis went 4-4, which gives them a chance at the playoffs, as it lifted the boys to fifth place in the overall standings. The Astralis lost to the MAD Lions at the end of the week before falling to seventh overall. Today, Astralis will face G2 Esports, with whom the boys are exactly in contention for seventh place.

Astralis didn't come into League of Legends from the start. It was a bit more complicated than that. Astralis was the first Danish-owned organization, founded in 2016 as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with an all-Danish Team SoloMid squad. It was rumored that after winning four Major CS:GO tournaments, the organization would join the EU LCS as part of the 2019 European franchise program. It was later reported that Astralis' parent company, RFRSH Entertainment, had acquired Origen and would use their name and brand to participate in the EU LCS. On 9 August 2019, Astralis and Origen merged into the Astralis Group, which separated from RFRSH Entertainment. On 15 September 2020, it was announced that Astralis Group would combine all activities and teams under the Astralis brand, including Origen's League of Legends team.

Now let's talk about Origen, as their results are nothing short of spectacular. In 2015, they tore up the entire European scene, taking 1st place in the Spring Split, 2nd place in the Summer Split, and 1st place at the Regional Finals. They also made it to Worlds that year, where they took 3rd-4th place. The start of 2016 continued Origen's winning ways as they finished 2nd in the spring split, but a 9th place finish in the summer split sent them playing qualifiers for the following season. In 2017 they fly out of the LCS again, however, their attempt to get through qualifications this time fails. They play matches for a chance to qualify for the EU Masters, but in addition to winning the league they also pick up a win at the EU Masters. In 2019 the organization finished 2nd in the Spring Split but again failed in the Summer Split putting Origen off their chances of reaching the Worlds, at the end of the season they finished 4th at the Regional Finals and moved on. The 2020 season started with 4th place in the spring split and another failure in the summer split (10th place this time). The 2021 season showed nothing new. 8th and 9th place at the end of the two splits.

The spring split for Astralis was a failure. The organization finished 10th overall, with a score of 3-15. Before the summer split, the organization replaced three players.

These teams have met each other seven times. G2 Esports leads with a score of 7-0 on the maps and series. These teams have played each other three times this year. G2 Esports leads with a score of 3-0 on the maps and series. In this split, these teams have also played each other, but only once. G2 Esports won that game.

I'll take a handicap 1 (-8.5) in this match for 1.83.

And I'll take the map duration under 34 minutes for 1.75.
