FaZe

FaZe was very active in 2024 on tier-1 tournaments, practically not ignoring invites. The karrigan team is very much exhausted and has no full opportunity to train, but is in excellent competitive form. There was a victory at IEM Chengdu 2024, two finals at the major in Copenhagen and IEM Katowice 2024, and then the quarter-finals of ESL Pro League Season 19 and IEM Dallas 2024. Despite such a busy schedule, the players are filling in nicely at tournaments. If the individual performance of ropz or frozen slips, broky and rain join in, and karrigan lights up in some matches. The team has no mapple problems and can play on all cards. FaZe never shows supernatural statistics at tournaments, but there is one pattern - it gradually accelerates in the group stage, can allow one random defeat, but in the playoffs it transforms and fights with absolutely any opponent. The last failures in the quarter-finals can be written off both to fatigue and to the preparation of the opponents - FaZe took the first place in the HLTV top for a long time.

FaZe has been dominating in CS2 for the last two and a half years, but there is one interesting fact - during this time karrigan and company have never won LAN-tournaments from BLAST. The team has won nine trophies in three years, but no cups from the Danish tournament operator. This is partly a tournament of principle for FaZe, and maybe in July 2024 it will be possible to break the curse.

SAW

The Portuguese have qualified for the BLAST Spring Finals, for SAW this is a great achievement in the history of the organisation. Admittedly, the form in which the team will be travelling to London does not match the level of the tournament. SAW was playing great at the beginning of 2024 - reaching the majors and close to the Legends Stage, playing steeply at RMR, making strides at the dash-2 level. At one point the win streak was ten wins, but beautiful stories have a way of ending, and the Portuguese turned from heroes into mediocre players.

In the last three months SAW alternated wins and losses at the tier-3 level. The team fought for a slot at ESL Pro League Season 20, but ended up in the group stage on points difference. Three months ago, the players had 1.1-1.2 HLTV ratings and a positive kill-to-death ratio. Now, however, the numbers have dropped significantly for all of them. Arrozdoce and ewjerkz showed promise and looked very interesting, but now both are not in the best shape. Winrates on the cards have also dropped - where there used to be 70% wins, now you can hardly win half of the time. Ancient (55% for 9 cards) and Nuke (52% for 19 cards) are still the best cards.

If the Spring Finals were held in March, SAW could surprise favourites. In June 2024, the Portuguese are severely under-skilled against all opponents. Taking part in the BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024 is a reward for SAW's previous successes. But no one will be expecting sensations from the Portuguese.
