Virtus.pro vs Team Liquid
Format: BO3
11.10.22, 05:00
The "last chance" qualifier for The International 2022 continues on Tuesday, October 11. Virtus.pro and Team Liquid will battle it out in the second leg of the LCQ's top-flight playoffs.
The International 2022: Last Chance Qualifier is a qualifier for The International 2022, the year's main event in Dota 2 eSports. Twelve teams from around the world will be competing for two slots in the main tournament. The Last Chance Qualifier, like the entire The International 2022 tournament, will take place in a lantern format in Singapore.

The first game day of the LCQ playoffs showed Virtus.pro's willingness to progress and not titillate. After a tough match-up with Vici Gaming, the Bears can be considered top favorites if they overcome Team Liquid's resistance. But it will be difficult with the Europeans because, in the group stage of this qualification, VP players lost 0:2 to Liquid without a chance. Still, the Russian team has progressed since that match, so the chances of success for the opponents are equal, as the bookmakers' odds show.
Virtus.pro was a disappointment with their play; at times, there was a certain tilt in the players' actions, and the main star, RAMZES666, did not play like multiple champions of the majors. But that didn't stop the Russian team from making it to the top of the LCQ, but a game against the Chinese from Vici Gaming fundamentally changed the mood and expectations for the Russian team.
The Virtus.pro team returned to its name after six months due to a change of ownership. If in CS:GO, the tournament operators have not yet decided whether to amnesty the organization and forget about Outsiders, but in Dota 2, it has already been officially done, and at TI11, we will see the good old Bears.
The Virtus.pro players should have drawn some conclusions after their disappointing Regional Qualification Final because the 0:3 defeat by the BB Team revealed the current problems of the squad led by the famous RAMZES666. But if anyone is to be welcomed to the group stage of TI11, it is the Russian team, apart from the Chinese.
Virtus.pro can safely complain about some terrible bad luck. First, they were deprived of a direct TI11 invite because of their lack of 0.5 points, and then they failed in the regional qualification finals when only the laziest of people thought they would win. For an even more frustrating end to the season, they were left to drop out of the Last Chance Qualifier somewhere in the final game for a slot.
Team Liquid: The Europeans are striking with stability
Surprisingly, Team Liquid didn't fail in the group stage of the Last Chance Qualifier and produced a decent result that the current squad of Liquid has not seen all year on the international stage. In the playoffs, Polaris Esports gave Team Liquid fans something to be nervous about, but apart from one lost away game against the Philippines, the Europeans weren't too shaken up. The game with VP is ahead, and Liquid beat the Russians in the group without any problems, but can MATUMBAMAN and Co. repeat their recent success?
A legendary tag won at The International, but now it's interesting because this team's carry MATUMBAMAN has announced that this journey behind the aegis may be his last. What are your expectations from this Western European representative? Not for me. Team Liquid has been good in online regional leagues, but when it comes to LAN games, the Swedish-Finnish squad's play has been fading fast.
Let's not go far and recall all the LAN tests of the Liquid in this DPC cycle:
ESL One Stockholm 2022 (major) - 9-12th place
Riyadh Masters 2022 - 9-10th place
PGL Arlington Major 2022 (Major) - 9-12th place
ESL One Malaysia 2022 - 11-12th place
Team Liquid finished third in TI11 qualifying and somehow managed to secure a place in the "last chance" qualifier for The International 2022. Still, so far, the Europeans are surprisingly solid in the tournament.
