TI5 champion with Evil Geniuses and multiple winner of Dota 2 tier-1 tournaments, Peter ppd Daeger, gave his prediction for the top 3 of the TI12, specifically for our portal.
Top 3 of The International 12 according to ppd
Peter Dager suggested that we should not expect sensations in Seattle. He believes that the most successful teams during the season will be in the top three at The International 12:
Gaimin Gladiators, Team Liquid, and Team Spirit. All of them can become champions and have enough experience and confidence in their abilities to succeed in the later stages of major tournaments.
Gaimin Gladiators have won five consecutive tournaments in the first half of 2023: three majors in Lima, Berlin, and Bali, as well as the nineteenth and twentieth DreamLeague seasons. It is difficult to single out a star, but five play as one mechanism. The lead player can be either Quinn, dyrachyo, or Ace. The guys have a large pool of characters and strategies and a huge win rate against all opponents this year.
Team Liquid has been the main underdog this season. The team participated in three major tournament finals, DreamLeague Season 19 and Riyadh Masters 2023. In four finals, the team lost to Gaimin Gladiators. In Riyadh, they failed to beat Team Spirit. In the games that decided the title, Team Liquid's statistics were dismal - five wins to fifteen defeats. But that didn't stop them from taking first place in Dota Pro Circuit 2023 and dominating the opponents throughout the season.
Team Spirit struggled in the first half of 2023, but the Spirits broke Gaimin Gladiators' hegemony on the podium. They claimed a crucial win at the Riyadh Masters 2023 and consolidated their success in DreamLeague Season 21. Larl has finally adapted to Team Spirit's style, just as his teammates have found the keys to cooperative playing. The teammates are in top physical and mental shape for The International 2023.
- Gaimin Gladiators are one of the favorites of The International 12. Dyrachyo and his teammates will try to remember how they asserted dominance in the spring.
- Of the Eastern European teams, Peter Dager likes Team Spirit the most. They can repeat OG's stunt and become two-time TI champions based on their current skill level.
- Peter named Team Liquid the third team capable of challenging for the title. Their curse of second place will likely end at the 2023 Dota 2 Main Event.
