T1 vs Execration: The favourite to stop making silly mistakes

South-East Asia's first DPC league of the 2021/22 season continues on Wednesday, January 12. T1 and Execration will meet in the second matchday of the elite division.

DPC SEA 2021/22 Tour 1: Division I is an online Dota 2 tournament from December 01, 2021, to January 22, 2022. The top eight teams in the SEA region will battle it out for $205,000. On top of the cash prizes, the teams will also fight for three entries to the majors and the crucial DPC points needed to qualify for T11.

T1: Time to start fighting the good fight

The favourites to start the year 2022 with a slump. They lost to Team Neon (1:2) but beat their opponents in the first Salad Card, allowing them to make only four frags, and then lost the other two maps. Miraculously, we didn't lose to the MTG team (2-1) in the rescheduled match from December. The first map was confident again, the second lost in nil, and the third was a struggle, where only experience helped T1 win and continue to fight for the top 1 region.

Although the T1 team got off to a great start in the new season, as demonstrated by the results of the December DPC league games. In the first round, they were beaten 2-0 by TNC, who were quite useless. In the second round, the participants of TI10 were matched by SMG that now looks pretty good in the elite but not good enough against T1 yet. Another 2-0 victory.

The T1 team had a great season for themselves last season. They qualified for TI10, earned a million dollars, and finished 7-9 in the year's main tournament. All the top achievements of the organization are connected with LoL, but now there was some progress in Dota 2.

The squad is fully intact, and why change anything when 23savage is dragging, and everyone is successfully helping him with it. The T1 squad is the reigning champion of the Asian DPC league and a participant in The International 10, which is already the highest achievement for this Korean organization in Dota 2. 23savage has finally found his team. It is ready to take on the Asian DPC scene and the world. This team is the main favorite in SEA in the new season, but it is important to keep winning.

The current opponent is inferior in class, so it is worth winning just as convincingly and preparing for the battle with BOOM in a good mood.

Execration: Trying to get in over their heads

If you look at the standings right now, you can see the Execration squad in the border zone, as the team is 2-2 in the table. But it should be understood that the Filipinos have only faced their direct rivals so far, and today they finally have a clash with the favourite and major contender T1. The next games don't get any easier. BOOM and Fnatic are not far away from the exit.

Team Execration is no longer the same team as the Kyiv major and surprised the whole public with their decent game. The squad continues to be made up solely of Filipino players, who have moved from team to team in the Asian region.

The team's old-timers are 4th and 5th position scorers BDz and RR, who have been with Execration for over a year. Bob and Raging Potato joined the team in the summer of 2021. The latter was replaced before the last BTS by Tino. Another recruit this autumn was Abat. So both of the new signings were just getting used to the new team and the new teammates. But the ninth season of the Asian BTS team failed, so there were two more replacements: Nando is the main DPC starting carry, the old Philippine teammate is back, and the new three Kimizu, who have not played in strong lineups before, are also in the squad.

Overall, the Execration team does not look like they will be counting on any big dividends at the end of the season. The main thing for them is to keep their place in the elite. In the first week of the new DPC cycle, the Filipinos played MG.Trust (0-2) but could not put anything past their opponents, losing two cards in 30 minutes. But then they won crucial head-to-head encounters with OB.Neon (2-1) and TNC (2-0) even put the boys in the temporary Top 3, but it should be understood that this team is far from the major level and the game with SMG (0-2) confirmed that.
