Soniqs are not in the best of situations. Their only chance to make the play-offs is to beat Outsiders, and with the Americans having known no wins at this major, there’s no chance at all. They have four draws (RNG, Thunder Awaken, OG and PSG.LGD) with three losses (Team Liquid, Talon Esports, Fnatic) in their assets.
Soniqs is the former Quincy Crew, the winner of the first North American Regional League this DPC cycle 2021/22. Quincy Crew players were the most outraged about the cancellation of the first major. It was no surprise since they should have been preparing for the playoffs in the major, only to get another four-team regional showdown. The QC players failed at the regional finals, becoming only the third team in their region to receive no extra DPC points. Whether that resulted from a reluctance to play after the cancellation of the Majors is possible, but in the second DPC league, the guys failed in the replay. With six wins and only one loss, Quincy Crew was forced to have a replay, which they failed miserably, leaving them without a major, which was held in May.
In the new summer tour, the team was once again formed around the first and second playing positions, Quinn and YawaR, joined from Alliance by Brazilian third position carry player LESLÃO, with MSS and Fata defending the honor of the team in the support position. Quincy Crew is stil a force to be reckoned with. The team has become second in the summer tour, so the American squad will perform for the home audience. The main thing is that they have something to show and not to fail miserably.
The Major is the only international tournament where Quincy Crew will play before TI11 (if they get there). It's a shame they lost the qualification to TSM (2-3) for ESL One Malaysia 2022, but it's important to get DPC points on the Major to not worry about getting to the Int, although if EG and TSM make it to the main tournament of the year, it's hard to imagine who can fight Quincy Crew in the North American qualification.
Outsiders: to play in the winners
Before the final game, RAMZES666 and company are in a good tournament situation. Any points gained in the game against Soniqs should send the Bears into the top bracket of the playoffs. But to be as confident as possible, and to pick a better opponent in the first round, they need to beat the Americans. A couple of successful games and the Outsiders will earn themselves a place in TI11 without any qualification.
The long-suffering Bears are finally reaching their peak form. The Russian team's DPC spring season was horrible. In the first game, carry Pure earned a suspension and then was kicked out.
VP kept silent for a long time and, at the beginning of the summer tour, announced their rescue plan. The legendary RAMZES666 returned to his home team. Many no longer believed in Roman, but he proved with his play that he was ready to break into the elite of the dota scene again, and not just to take money from advertising contracts. Outsiders sensationally won the Eastern European DPC League summer tour, beating NaVi and Team Spirit in the championship replay. Notably, the Bears only lost to NaVi in the regular season, but the VP players themselves reported that they played that day with poor health.
It's very important that the full roster of Outsiders came to the United States. All of the Russian players got visas, which means that VPs will show their best.
Outsiders is a tag created as a neutral name for the team and now gives it the right to participate in major cybersports tournaments.
Head-to-head encounters
The teams have only played each other once in history and that was in early April 2021 at the Singapore Major. Virtus.pro defeated Quincy Crew 2-1.
