The second DPC league of the 2021/22 season in China kicks off on Tuesday, March 15. PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming will meet in the second matchday of the elite division.
DPC CN 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division I is an online Dota 2 tournament that will run from March 15 to April 22, 2022. The top eight teams from the China region will compete for $205,000. Aside from the cash prizes, the teams will also fight for four entries to the majors and the crucial DPC points needed to qualify for T11.
PSG.LGD: The champion is back in action
PSG.LGD is the overall DPC champion in the first part of the 2021/22 season. The TI10 vice-champions did not lose a single game to their regional opponents in January and in February they confirmed their status as the strongest team in the country at the regional finals which Valve organized to replace the cancelled majors. The team’s DPC points are at their highest level at the moment, which can’t but make them happy.
As for the non-DPC cycle tournaments, PSG.LGD is blatantly fooling around at them. Weak performances at the Intel World Open Beijing (3rd place) and OGA Dota PIT Season 6: China (5th-6th place) should not scare before the start of the Spring Tour, xiao8 and Co will be the main favourites this time too.
The PSG.LGD team won the first DPC league of 2022 without defeat. Yes, some maps were lost, but overall, only Aster and RNG caused trouble. EHOME also picked up a map from xiao8’s wards, but it looked more like an inaccuracy than a legitimate fact. The composition of this team continues to be unchanged. All the same stars on the server, plus behind the backs and coach xiao8, who was exonerated in the sensational 322 scandal. No matter how PSG.LGD played, they should have been in the majors and only the cancellation of the event itself prevented them from being there.

The Vici Gaming team’s performance in January was more disappointing than surprising. The renewed roster is not impressive. The DPC league has shown that the VGs cannot fight for the top four positions, but they had enough time in February to prepare for the spring part of the season and fight for a place in the majors.
Besides the DPC league, Vici Gaming players also tried their luck in the Intel World Open Beijing lanai Chinese tournament throughout January, which did not bring them many dividends, with a final 5-6 place out of 8 possible - not the best result for this top Chinese organization. At the OGA Dota PIT Season 6: China in February, the result was even more dismal - 7-8th place.
It is impossible to call 2021 a failure for Vici Gaming: participation in TI10 and 5-6th place at the end, two Chinese DPC bronzes and two i-League 2021 silver medals, and well VG showed themselves at the Kyiv major, where they took fourth place. Indeed, they didn’t win any titles in 2021 and it must have influenced their bosses to change their line-up. The new squad of Vici Gaming was assembled around poyoyo, who is the only one left from the previous squad. Newcomers have been added to the good old curry:
Xm - a second position curry who played in EHOME last season and never quite made it.
Irving - an interesting Chinese three. This Chinese player was an important cog in the game of last year’s LBZS. Together with them he tried out for the elite and triumphed in the second division.
Yds. - number four who played with CDEC, VG believed in him, and so for him, the new team is the most high-profile one he has played with before.
Victoria is another CDEC supporter. He had a lot of nicknames in his career but not cool teams. His arrival to VG is a test and a great credit to him.
The major goal of not to drop out of the elite was solved by this team in the winter split, but something had to be done in the offseason. To make replacements or urgently improve the game, because in this state the team will be one of the first to stand in the spring season of the DPC league.
