Not good for Polaris Esports... The team will start week three as the last team in the region, still without a winning streak (0-3). In the first match, this team lost to their opponents from Talon Esports (1-2), but as I expected - not without a struggle. The substitutes are still the inferior quality of play, although the guys are trying. And then the patch was changed a bit, and lags are constant, so easily dealt with the familiar Nigma Galaxy SEA also did not work... Again, the defeat with a close score of 1:2. The third defeat against the team's neighbor from the bottom of the table, Team SMG (0:2). I still don't understand why the bookmakers continue to believe in this team and put them as the favorite in most of the tied matches. Yes, Polaris Esports performed well in the spring, but the replacements before the summer tourney were unequal, which affected the game.
Polaris Esports is a Filipino team that was formed in September 2021. From the outset, the team has established itself as a combative and serious team, for a fourth place in the first division of the spring regional DPC league speaks volumes. Of course, the pack was focused on qualifying for TI11. They started in the second division, which they won safely at the end of the first winter round, while also playing in several tier-3 tournaments, which they won.
It has become a good tradition in the Asian region that those coming out of the lower divisions are not lost but join the Southeast Asian elite in the top 4. So it was in the winter with SMG, so it happened in the spring with Polaris Esports. The team did not make it to the majors, which upset the organization, and the bosses decided to strengthen their line-up a bit. The Philippine boys will start the summer tour with newcomers: three Nevermine (transferred from Summit Gaming) and five Tmv (GrindSky Esports). Whether or not this is a reinforcement will be shown in the summer tour, but the rookies showed good results before the start of the main league, winning the eleventh season of the BTS tournament with Polaris Esports. But in the DPC so far, it's been a dismal mess…
RSG: A solid debutant
RSG is a fairly old and well-known Asian tag on the radar in Dota 2 in 2018 and 2019. After that team failed to qualify for The International 2019, the players managed to play in a couple more tournaments before ceasing their humble existence towards the end of the year. The RSG team only returned to the pro scene this spring.
The organization signed an amazing mix of open Asian qualifiers, ChubbyBoiz, and he surprisingly easily took out all the opponents in the second division. In the off-season, the team managed to play in the BTS Pro Series Season 11 tournament but were unimpressed with their play, finishing 5th-6th at this Tier 3 tournament without much of a stretch.
The RSG players were able to wow the community with a 2-1 win over T1 in their elite debut. The debutants' calendar is very complex. After all, the next game was against Fnatic (1:2), in which the boys were also able to prove themselves and bring the matter to a repeat victory. They could not. The games against the region's leaders showed that RSG is a strong team, and at least in this match, they deserved to be favorites.
Expert Betting Tips
I really liked the RSG play in recent games. The debutants could beat not only T1 but also Fnatic, so I propose to bet on their victory in the match for 2.36. I believe that the bookmakers wrongly selected the favorite in this pairing, even just looking at the standings and the opponents with which the teams have already played before this face-to-face meeting.
We'll see a tough fixture in Asia this Summer, so there's a good bet on Total Over 2.5 for 1.98.
And for the fans of big odds and risky bets, I suggest you bet on the correct score of the meeting 2-1 in favor of RSG - the odds are 4.16.
