The OG team has been impressive to start the year! The Europeans, led by the legendary Ceb, had a string of resounding victories at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and DreamLeague Season 22 qualifiers that promised amazing results as the season progressed, but the peak of success proved to be brief, and the squad faced a rapid decline in form. OG players failed to qualify for the Western European qualifying round at ESL One Birmingham 2024.
Then came a string of major tournaments. At BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, the OG squad performed poorly and finished in 9th place, but at DreamLeague Season 22, Ceb's team managed to qualify for the second round of the group stage and finished in 6th place, which was acceptable in the context of the fight for a slot in the main tournament of the summer.
In March, OG participated in the DreamLeague Season 23 qualifiers but failed to make it to the main event. The Elite League 2024 tournament will be another important test for the European roster, which is still struggling in games against serious opponents.
Blacklist International
Last November, Blacklist added three new players to their roster: Abed, Gabbi, and Carlo, marking the beginning of a new phase in the development of a promising roster in Southeast Asia. Previous attempts by the owners of Blacklist International to build a strong team of Filipino players for Dota Pro Circuit 2023 ended in failure, with the team failing to overcome the regional competition by failing to qualify for TI 2023. This bad experience led to significant changes to the Blacklist roster, allowing the team to acquire outstanding Filipino free agents available on the transfer market.
For star Filipino players, the move to Blacklist meant a return to their homeland, while Carlo joined the squad from Execration, but the organization said goodbye to him in March. Palos is also from there and still managed to establish himself in the new team. Peruvian Mjz, who played for many years in his native South America, became the new fifth-position support. With the new acquisitions, Blacklist is aiming for serious competition for places at the biggest tournaments of the new season, but so far, the results leave much to be desired.
Expert Betting Tips
Bookmakers are unanimous in singling out OG as an unqualified favourite, but the Filipinos are underestimated by the experts for nothing. The Asian team gained form in the regional qualifications, but the Europeans have repeatedly shown weakness at home. In this match, we should expect a fight; not everything is so obvious.
