OG vs beastcoast Prediction: OG is much stronger in all aspects

OG confidently entered the top 8 of Elite League Season 2 without any problems in the Swiss. They lost only one map in three series against Heroic, and looked very convincing in all wins. Timado and Wisper seem to want to raise the title above their heads on home soil without giving their opponents a chance.

The OG stats look very strange. On the one hand, bzm and Wisper lead the individual rankings in KDA (both have over 11.5 per map). At the same time Timado can't cross the KDA 3 mark. The Peruvian kerry dies 4 times per map on average, and his individual performances against Heroic and Apex Genesis have been abysmal. It's never been the case that with absolute OG dominance, the kerry ends the game on Shadow Fiend on 3/8/17. On average, the team allocates up to half an hour to the map, makes 29 kills and allows 14 deaths, and gets 668 creeps. The latter figure is very low, but is due to the aggression on the server from the bzm team. OG starts its dominance by laning, increases its economic advantage in midgame, and storms the highground after the 20th minute.

But we have to look at all the stats from the other side. The opponents were Apex Genesis, Yellow Submarine, and Heroic. All of the opponents made it out of the Swiss Stage and didn't make the top 8. In fact, we haven't seen a serious test for OG yet, and the match with beastcoast won't be one. The team can make it to the top of the playoffs on class, but their true ambitions will be shown against other opponents.

beastcoast trained with two future participants of The International 2024. It was a tight match with 1win, but the Peruvians were consistently weaker in the leit (0:2). With nouns the match was easier, because Fly team did everything to get out of Elite League Season 2 early. Beastcoast is in the top 8, but even with the best of luck they won't make it to the Round-Robin for the top seed. Why?

Firstly, the test of the 1win match was not passed. This series clearly showed that discipline and class were more important factors than early aggression and the desire to fight all the time. Secondly, beastcoast doesn't always achieve perfect synergy during drafts. Some strategies are missing different components - going into leit, lack of stats and slowdowns, and push potential. As a result, beastcoast's drafts are weaker than their opponents. The Peruvians were partially lucky to win against Yellow Submarine, but nothing worked out there.

It's not to say that beastcoast is a bad team, but most of their wins happened thanks to the poor play of their opponents. And with payk on kerry being in the top 3 in KDA (7.9), the whole team dies about 20 times per map, doing about 30.5 kills. It will be much harder to fight against OG, because the beastcoast in previous matches usually imposed aggression itself, but here from the first minutes we will have to respond and play second number.
