Evil Geniuses is now in South America. After failing at The International 11, the organization terminated contracts with the Fly roster and turned its attention to talent from Peru. Pakazs, Chris Luck, Wisper, Mattnew and Pandaboo joined Evil Geniuses in the transfer window. By the way, there were rumours that the players' salaries have now increased markedly.
The last time the organization won tournaments was during the pandemic. They bring the first trophy to the BTS Pro Series Season 13: Americas a month after signing. The squad did so in dominant fashion, winning nine maps out of 12, and in the grand final, made a comeback from a 0:2 series win against Team SoloMid.
EG gathered the best players in the region. At The International 11, Pakazs was a real discovery, and the supports performed their duties surprisingly academically. In beastcoast, Wisper often had to win matches solo, and Chris Luck had gotten in good playing shape for the last series in the group. Evil Geniuses looks like a favourite in the first round of the DPC, so they can't count on the underdogs' mistakes.
Infinity
The dark horse of the upcoming DPC games, Infinity, played in the second division last season but, towards the end, found their way to the elite and even picked up some solid wins at halftime of the season. At BTS Pro Series Season 13: Americas, they won over Thunder Awaken and Wildcard Gaming and gave a serious fight to beastcoast.
In the interview, Smiling Knight paid tribute to Infinity's carry Parker. On Templar Assassin, he has a 30 Dota Plus range and is ready to beat all opponents regardless of status. But in patch 7.32, the team likes playing with Morphling (14 games with a 78% win rate) and Treant Protector (12 games with a 75% win rate). In the last three months, Leostyle has been showing quality performances: in midlane, he has 6.5 KDA per map and makes 18 kills on average. He's the one who has the most influence on Infinity's outcome.
In the first match of the DPC cycle, the team defeated former roster player Hokori (now Alliance.LATAM) 2-0. Infinity's drafts on the maps differed in approach, with players implementing key ultimates on one card and playing signature characters on the other. However, Evil Geniuses' level of play is noticeably different from Alliance.LATAM, so Infinity goes into this series as an underdog.
Expert Betting Tips
Based on BTS Pro Series Season 13: Americas, Pakazs and teammates have a different level of play compared to their DPC-league counterparts. With increased regional competition, Evil Geniuses is the top contender for first place. Infinity can put up a fight at some point in the matchup, but no more. Evil Geniuses' picks feature strong linemen with early kill potential.
