The second DPC league of the 2021/22 Asian season will continue on Saturday, March 19. BOOM Esports and Nigma Galaxy SEA will meet in the second match of the day of the elite division.
DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division I is an online Dota 2 tournament taking place from March 16 to April 21, 2022. The top eight teams from the Southeast Asian region will battle it out for $205,000. On top of the cash prizes, the teams will battle for three entries to the majors and the all-important DPC points needed to qualify for T11.

The off-season in Southeast Asia saw some decisions, with teams swapping carries and BOOM Esports not being spared from the changes as they signed JaCkky to replace Tino, who left for Execration. Why the replacement in the first place? BOOM's style of play with Tino was no different from that seen in the regional finals with JaCkky. But the result of the regional final and the GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022 Arab Lan tournament showed that the Asian champion had not made the switch for anything and the synchronisation of the Laotian carry was successful.
The BOOM Esports team promoted only an Indonesian line-up for the entire year 2021 until TI10. While the Indonesians still finished the first DPC league in 2021 more or less normally, they failed the second and even lost a slot in the elite Asian region. But the boys started the new DPC cycle still in the elite, thanks to the expulsion for match-fixing team Omega Esports.
The Indonesians were dropped by the organisation. The failure of the past could not have affected positively for all the former boom players. They are now a Filipino team whose players have performed very well throughout the off-season, even winning their ninth BTS season in SEA.
The only one who has represented this team indefinitely is Indonesian Fbz who has been playing in the third position in this team since 2017. The new faces of BOOM Esports are just the ex-neons who wowed the world with their play in the Singapore majors: Yopaj and skem. From the banned Omega came Tino, who has now left for another team, and from TNC Tims.
Nigma Galaxy SEA: A major underdog
The first round of the new season showed that Nigma Galaxy SEA will find it extremely difficult to play against representatives of the elite Asian division. After losing without a chance to fellow second division champions Polaris Esports (0:2), the team showed poor preparation for the season.
Nigma Galaxy SEA stands out from the rest of the Asian elite. The Singaporean squad is well sponsored by Arab sheikhs, but so far they're not getting much out of the money. It's clear that Nigma Galaxy is more interesting with their European line-up, and they've left the Asian team as a reference to the past. The squad has been together for a long time, but the results are far from impressive, although making it to the DPC elite is an achievement that will be extremely difficult to repeat.
Before the start of this DPC league, the team competed in the Gamer Galaxy Lan tournament. Invitational Series Dubai 2022, but as hosts did not win a single map. But let's be honest, the opponents were far too status-oriented for them. I still have Nigma Galaxy SEA in my mind as the first team to be relegated back to the second division, but if they can surprise me today, maybe they will be able to compete for the elite title.
