Team 1win, made up of young and ambitious players, will participate in The International 2024 for the first time. Rising through the qualifying stages in Eastern Europe, they could compete against strong teams such as Virtus.pro and NAVI, which earned them a place at TI13. 1win arrived on the scene after the TI12 reshuffle, and thanks to a successful performance in DreamLeague Season 22, the team attracted a sponsor. Despite being young and relatively inexperienced, the 1win players have surprised their opponents with an unconventional approach to the metagame. However, this has sometimes led to setbacks, such as failing to qualify for the Riyadh Masters.
The average age of 1win's players is only 21, which presents some logistical challenges, such as visa issues that caused the team to miss their first LAN tournament. Nevertheless, they made their LAN debut in Peru in July 2024, where the Russians reached the finals of Elite Season 2. 1win team members are known for their unconventional play, such as using Windranger in the Carry position. At TI13, they plan to expand their arsenal of heroes and improve their strategic flexibility. With their unpredictability and adaptability, the 1win players could be an unexpected and strong contender in the tournament.
HEROIC
This year marks the first time the Heroic organization will be represented at The International for Dota 2. While best known for their success in Counter-Strike, Heroic entered the world of Dota 2 in early 2024, focusing on South America. After a massive reshuffle in the region following TI12, Heroic assembled a team from the remaining talented players, including former beastcoast and Keyd Stars members, and brought in up-and-coming player 4nalog. However, with a lack of strong off-line players in the region, they brought in Davai Lama, a polyglot who quickly learned Spanish to improve team communication.
Heroic brought a more organized approach to South America, introducing strict discipline and efficient working methods. Their efforts led to a rapid dominance of the region and qualification for TI13. However, despite their success in local tournaments, Heroic struggled on the international stage, where their best result was a top-8 finish at ESL One Birmingham and DreamLeague Season 23. Ahead of TI13, the team is continuing to adapt to the current meta, relying on their players' flexibility and unique style of play to surprise their opponents at the year's biggest tournament
Expert Betting Tips
It will be extremely difficult for the Russians to succeed in this BO2 clash, but the Eastern European team will not give up without a fight against the formidable South American team K1.
