This split comes out very disappointing for Dignitas. In the opening match the guys lost to CLG, but tried to surprise their opponents in the second one. This did not work against Team Liquid, who easily beat them. On the third day nothing changed. Dignitas lost to 100 Thieves, thus ending the first game week with a score of 0-3. The second week Dignitas also started with a defeat. In a very close encounter, Cloud9 took the win from the guys, setting a 0-4 score. In the final match of the second week, Dignitas simply demolished Immortals without giving them a single kill, thus finally ending their streak of four losses. At the beginning of week three, Dignitas faced FlyQuest, whom they could not outplay in a tense encounter. At the end of the week, Dignitas beat TSM, 2-5, but at the beginning of the fourth week Evil Geniuses didn't give the guys a chance - 2-6. Also, Dignitas lost to Golden Guardians, thus starting their losing streak, which so far has been two games in a row. Today Dignitas will meet Cloud9, who are very difficult to deal with.
Dignitas is an international cybersport team headquartered in the United Kingdom. It was founded on September 9, 2003 as a merger of the Battlefield 1942 Legion Condor and Sweden Kompanix clans. More teams were later added to the organization, and in July 2004 Team Dignitas was incorporated as Team Dignitas Ltd. Team Dignitas entered the League of Legends, signing the infamous Team Rock Solid squad, which proved to be one of the few squads capable of competing with Team SoloMid and Counter Logic Gaming, two of the best teams in North America at the time. Despite exiting the game in 2017 due to failing to secure a slot for the franchise, Dignitas returned to League of Legends in 2020 by acquiring the Clutch Gaming brand.
The spring split for Dignitas did not go well. After finishing the split with a score of 8-10, the guys finished seventh, thus remaining one step away from the playoffs. Before the summer split, the organization replaced one player.
Cloud9: It's Time to Gain Momentum
In the opening match of the summer split, Cloud9 lost in a very tense struggle Evil Geniuses, which knocked out the mood of the guys for the next super week. The second match was a disaster for the guys, they fell to the Guardians, and the third game day was the same. Cloud9 lost to Team Liquid, thereby recovering to a score of 0-3 at the end of the first week. The second week, Cloud9 started with a tough comeback against Dignitas, which interrupted their three game losing streak. At the end of the week Cloud9 easily defeated 100 Thieves, returning to the game after a disappointing first week. At the beginning of the third week, the guys had no problem beating CLG, thus going from 0-3 to 3-3. At the end of the week Cloud9 could not defeat FlyQuest, breaking their winning streak of three games, but at the beginning of the fourth week the guys regained the winning spirit, beating TSM, and thus going 4-4 in the overall standings. At the end of the week, Cloud9 unexpectedly lose to Immortals, causing them to fall to sixth place. Today they will meet with Dignitas, which should win without any problems.
Cloud9 (C9) is a North American eSports team created by the former Quantic Gaming team after its disbandment. Cloud9 started out as a small League of Legends team. Since they first qualified for LCS, Jack Etienne, the current owner and general manager, decided to pick up the team, and since then it has grown exponentially over the years. The team is a 4-time NA LCS champion, a 7-time medalist, and a one-time World Championship semifinalist.
Cloud9's spring split finished beautifully. The boys finished the group stage 13-5, advancing to the playoffs from second place. The playoff stage turned out a little worse for Cloud9. After losing to the 100 Thieves, 3-0, Cloud9 fell to the bottom net. There the boys beat Golden Guardians 3-0, but lost 3-0 to Evil Geniuses in the next round, thus finishing 4th in the spring split. Before the summer split, the organization sent Fudge to another position and replaced one player.
