Liquid vs GODSENT: Are the Americans gaining momentum?

ESL Pro League Season 15 is one of the biggest tournaments in March and April with 24 teams from around the world. The winner of the tournament will receive $175,000 and the ESL Pro League trophy. The total prize pool is $823,000, so there will be enough money for all participants and no one will be left without a prize. This championship will take place from March 9 to April 10, which is an unusual format for the shooting gallery scene. But for fans of the spectacular and beautiful CS, it's all in good fun.

The group stage will be a round-robin system (everybody plays everybody for points in the group). All games will be of B3 format. Playoffs will be single elimination (to one defeat) in BO3 format and the grand final, there will be as many as 5 maps played.

In the second match in ESL Pro League Season 15, Liquid will play against GODSENT. Will the Americans be able to get a second victory in a row, or will the Brazilians be able to recover from their first defeat? The answers to these questions, we'll find out very soon.

Liquid: Have they finally found their groove?

Liquid announced their renewed line-up in January 2022 and the 2 months of their existence, the American squad have failed to make the top 30 teams in the world and show decent results in Tier-1 tournaments. At the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022 and IEM Katowice 2022, the shox team finished in last place and the 6 games played could only beat Evil Geniuses, who are also not in great shape after the showdown. Before the start of the ESL Pro League, Liquid won confidently in the American qualifiers for the RMR tournament. Not to say that this qualification was played by very strong teams, but that said, a win is a win. In their first ESL Pro League match, team nitr0 handily defeated BIG 2-0 on maps (dust2 16-11, mirage 16-12). It's hard to say yet whether that's a sign that the squad has already played its game and can perform at a stable tier-1 level. That was the first game and it's not clear what we can expect from the squad in the future. Already in the second match against GODSENT, the American team has the chance to at least prove that the level of play is slowly increasing and also confidently defeat the Brazilian team.

The Liquid currently sits 31st in the rankings of the best teams in the world.

The best map of the American squad is mirage with 60% in 5 games played.

The worst maps are dust2, nuke, overpass and ancient with 0% wins.

GODSENT: A bad start is not a hindrance?

The entrance to ESL Pro League Season 15 came courtesy of third place in the ESL Pro League Season 15 Conference. Their recent results show that 2022 is not exactly a great year for them. At the end of 2021, GODSENT won a trip to Tournament 1 and had a nice 5-6 position at IEM Winter 2021, but at IEM Katowice 2022, TACO didn't even qualify to the main stage and had 9-12 play-in. GODSENT also finished in the last places of the qualification for the RMR tournament. After a long rest, the team's level went down. In the first ESL Pro League match, the Brazilians lost to the Spanish team Movistar Riders 2-1 on maps (nuke 6-16, ancient 16-11, mirage 12-16). It was obvious from the match that Movistar Riders played much better and with more confidence, despite the same slump after a long rest. What to expect from GODSENT in the second match against Liquid? Overall, the Brazilians have an equal opponent once again, but that said, Liquid looks much more attractive due to their more experienced players and a confident victory in the first match.

The Brazilian team currently sits in 28th place in the world rankings. Previously, they were 18th.

The best maps are ancient and vertigo with a 67% win rate.

GODSENT has 0% wins on all other maps except nuke.

Expert Betting Tips

Even though the teams occupy almost the same positions in the top teams' rankings and their map pools are also very similar. I believe that from a more confident start, Liquid will be stronger in this match, beating the Brazilians 2-0 on the maps and the odds are 2.06 for that.

The bookmakers are also suggesting Total Under 26.5 rounds on the first map, with odds of 1.87.

In addition, you can take 1.90 on Total Over 26.5 rounds on the second map.
