Wednesday, August 31, will be the opening game of Group A of the Valorant Champions 2022 tournament. The Chileans from Leviatán and the Europeans from Team Liquid will clash in this match.
Valorant Champions 2022 is the last tournament on the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022. This tournament will challenge the 16 strongest teams in their respective regions to be the best team in the world. The tournament will take place from August 31 to September 18, 2022.
Team Liquid: First International Tournament with a New Lineup
At Valorant Champions, Team Liquid is coming off a pretty good form. The guys just won the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier, so for the main tournament of the year, the guys are doing well. The group looks easy for Team Liquid so that they can go into the playoffs in at least second place. The first opponent for the guys will be Leviatán.
Team Liquid plays quite often on the international scene, but the results are always different. At the first international tournament, Masters Series, the guys took fourth place, losing to Fnatic 2-0 on the maps, eventually taking second place. Team Liquid failed to qualify for the next international tournament, losing their exit match against Gambit Esports 2-1 on maps. At the Valorant Champions, the guys could enter via EMEA Last Chance Qualifier, where they were able to place 3-4 in the main tournament in 2021, losing to future champions Acend. In the 2022 season, Team Liquid again managed to enter the first international tournament, but the second one also passed them by. But Team Liquid again went through the Last Chance Qualifier to the year's main tournament.

Leviatan: the First World Championship
In this tournament, Leviatán plays in not the easiest group, where there is not much chance of making the playoffs. The first opponent for the Chileans will be Team Liquid, who are in great shape now.
At international tournaments, Leviatán appeared only once. That was at the Masters: Copenhagen when the guys could win in the regional finals of KRÜ Esports. The guys played the tournament itself quite well. Taking 5-6th place, Leviatán got the right amount of VCT points, entering the Valorant Champions by direct invitation.
Leviatán (formerly Leviatán Esports) is an Argentine cybersports organization founded in 2020. Initially, the organization was ranked 5-6, but that changed in 2022. Since the start of the Valorant Champions Tour season in 2022, Leviatán has been ranked but unable to make the international tournament. The Chileans could do so in the second round, beating KRÜ Esports 3-0 on the cards, thus advancing to the Masters: Copenhagen. There the international tournament for the Chileans was not too good. Winning only once out of three tournaments, the guys left, but they had enough VCT points to get a direct invite to the Valorant Champions.
