Heroic vs CompLexity Prediction: The Danes will win with confidence

The first major of 2022 has come to an end. FaZe Clan has confirmed its status as the best team in the world, while Team Spirit has once again proved that it is possible to achieve results with young players. The IEM Dallas 2022 awaits us, with almost all the strongest teams in the world coming to the event. Had it not been for visa problems, the list of participants would have been even stronger. Nevertheless, 16 teams, 14 of which are in the top 20 in the world ranking, will start on May 30 for the champion title and the prize fund of $250,000. The CIS region will be represented by Cloud9, which failed in the majors and is eager to prove to the new organization that it did not believe in the Russian lineup in vain.

Heroic and CompLexity will play their opening match at IEM Dallas 2022 on May 30. We will find out very soon if the Americans can surprise and beat the favorites at their home tournament.

Heroic: Favorite to win

Heroic had a good showing in the PGL Major Antwerp 2022. The team was able to take 5-8th place, which is a decent result considering the level of competition. The team lost only to ENCE, Team Spirit, and Natus Vincere. All of these teams were in the semi-finals of the tournament. At IEM Dallas 2022, the Danes are one of the main favorites. FaZe Clan after the Majors may not come up in the best shape, and with ENCE, Heroic may struggle. So reaching the final of the tournament for the Danes looks very realistic. In the first match, the boys will meet CompLexity, which has already been beaten without much trouble at the end of March. The upcoming match should not cause any worries for the Danes.

Most likely, the teams will choose between Inferno, Ancient, and Nuke. After the failed maps in the majors, I don't think Heroic will want to keep this map, so Inferno and Ancient look more likely. On Inferno and Danes 100% win rate, and Ancient in the last face-to-face match, Heroic won very easily. The other options are much less believable. CompLexity will have to get rid of Mirage, Overpass, and Vertigo. The team has a terrible win rate on the last two maps, and Heroic's win rate on the same Vertigo is under 90%. Therefore, it is unlikely that the Americans will risk keeping any of these maps.

CompLexity: Something is missing

CompLexity has assembled a fairly good lineup, but in international tournaments, something is missing. The team failed in the major, winning only one match on the Challengers Stage. The boys managed with great difficulty to outplay IHC, which raises questions. Is the American team really that weak? Judging by the majors, yes. At IEM Dallas 2022, it will not get any easier. In the first match, it went to Heroic, which is in good form, and in terms of the skill set, is superior to CompLexity. The big problem is that the Americans are uncomfortable playing against the Danes. They are forced to ban the three maps I mentioned above and leave Heroic a very comfortable choice. Danes can easily leave Inferno, on which they have a 100% win rate and will be clear favorites. Why should they invent something, leave Ancient, on which the opponent will have at least some chance? And if the opponent suddenly bans Inferno, he gets Overpass or Vertigo, where he also has no chance.

Heroic is the favorite of the match. The team should win without any problems and not waste energy on this confrontation. Everything looks too good for the Danes. The bookmakers offer 2.31 on a Heroic win with a handicap (-2.5), which looks like a good option.
