G2 vs Movistar Riders Prediction: A chance for G2 to make up for their failure in the Major

The first game day of the next CS:GO online tournament, IEM Dallas 2022, will take place on Monday, May 30. G2 and Movistar Riders will be the first teams to take to the US stage.

Intel Extreme Masters XVII - Dallas is a CS:GO online tournament that will take place from May 30 to June 05, 2022. The tournament is part of the Intel Grand Slam series, so it has brought together 16 top teams in the US city of Dallas, who were able to make a visa after the majors quickly. The prize money for this competition is $250,000.

G2: A big tournament for the team

Team G2 was one of the disappointing teams at the end of the last major. The star-studded squad was at least expected to make the playoffs, but they crashed out in the decisive game and also beat the European stars from FURIA (1-2).

I can't put into words how worried the management is about the team, so it's not surprising. The daily cost of NiKo and the transfer of m0NESY will pay off if the team keeps pulling out of important tournaments in the early stages. Somehow the current G2 is reminiscent of the old FaZe or even Cloud9 when the organization was buying stars, and they couldn't even play properly in one stack. The situation is aggravated by the talk that the change of captain has not helped. With nexa, the team played in the finals of the major, and Aleksib, after coming from the OG, has so far brought bad karma. After the Major, there were rumors about transfers. The G2 team also figures, but in Dallas, the team arrived in the old line-up, so if replacements follow, it will be only after a failure in America.

It is important for G2 that the young star m0NESY solved all his problems with the visa and made it to the U.S. Ilya is the least questioned of all in the majors. The rising star played at his level, which unfortunately was not enough to get his team into the Major's playoffs.

Movistar Riders: Is the team ready?

The team shouldn't have participated in IEM Dallas 2022. Still, the exclusion of NaVi and Entropiq due to the visa issues gave the Spaniards a chance to prove themselves on the American stage. We didn't see Movistar Riders in action for almost a month, their last game was a qualifier for the tournament, but they crashed it, losing to MOUZ (0:2) and Apeks (0:2).

The Spanish team was the talk of the town after IEM Fall 2021, last year's qualifier for the Swedish Major, when the side finished fifth in Europe, much to the surprise of the experts. At the World Cup itself, the Spaniards failed (17-19th place) and in subsequent major tournaments. The only thing I have to mention is the last ESL Pro League Season 15 that ended with Movistar Riders earning as much as $42,000 for 5-8th place.

I am afraid that Movistar Riders will be the main disappointment of IEM Dallas 2022 because I don't think the Spaniards were seriously preparing for this tournament. This team will become a mere statistic for the first two matches without serious preparation.
