On May 25, FunPlus Phoenix and CompLexity will play their next match in Flashpoint 3. Both teams have already been eliminated from the tournament and now they only have to determine which place they will take from ninth to 12th. Will FunPlus Phoenix manage to beat CompLexity for the first time in history or will the Americans once again be stronger?
FunPlus Phoenix: A bit weak

- The worst win rate map: Mirage - 0% in 5 maps
In the closed qualifications for IEM Summer 2021, FunPlus Phoenix looked very good and managed to beat BIG, G2 Esports, but in Flashpoint 3 the guys only managed to beat HYENAS, a Danish group with a good selection of players. After that, the team lost to NiP and Team Vitality. In both meetings, FunPlus Phoenix fought well, offered good resistance, but lost. Now their opponents cannot be classified as the top European teams, and FunPlus Phoenix could well fight for the victory in these matches.
By this tournament, the boys began to pick Inferno more often, although at the IEM Summer 2021 Closed Qualifier they gave their preference to Train. That’s not to say that Inferno’s matches went well for the squad, winning only one of the three maps they played on. But given that the Americans are sure to ban Train, there is no other choice. There is a minimal chance that FunPlus Phoenix will spade Dust2, but it is hard to believe it, especially considering the history of face-to-face meetings, where they lost two Dust2 out of two. And FunPlus Phoenix don’t look preferable on Inferno. CompLexity, when they don’t have a slump in shooting, have beaten both NAVI and Virtus.pro on this map and struggled in the extra rounds with Astralis.
CompLexity: Time to get it together

- The worst win rate map: Overpass - 25% in 4 maps
CompLexity has not been looking their best of late. The team finished only 9th-12th at DreamHack Masters Spring 2021, and then suffered a poor showing at Flashpoint 3 and are now struggling again only for 9th-12th place. In the first match, the guys lost to BIG and strongly surprised with a Nuke pick. It was a mistake, with their rather strong Mirage, but for some reason against the Germans, they were scared to play this map.
After this match, the Americans returned to their usual Mirage pick and looked great on it. Yes, they lost one match, losing to Heroic 18-22, but played well. In this confrontation, CompLexity should take Mirage. Besides being their best map, it is also the worst FunPlus map, in three months they have played Mirage five times and lost all five. Even if they lose on the enemy pick, the Americans have an excellent chance of closing the match in their favour. Of the possible maps, Dust2 or Nuke are the most likely, with CompLexity looking the favourites on both of these maps. They have already beaten their opponent on these maps and they did it quite confidently and the last head-to-head game was not so long ago.
Expert Betting Tips
Both teams are not in the best shape, but CompLexity are very comfortable playing against FunPlus Phoenix in terms of maps, and face-to-face meetings with a large advantage for the Americans, therefore, CompLexity have more chances of winning this match.
The bookmakers are offering odds of 1.75 for CompLexity to win, which looks like a good option. You can also try the American win with a handicap (-5.5) at 2.00.
