Format: BO3.
14.09.2022 17:00
ESL Pro League Season 16 is a historically significant event for the world community, and we can't overestimate its importance. The champion title is more important than a prize pool (by the standards of CS:GO) of 823,000$. The tournament is unique in its system, namely in its duration. During the month, the participating teams will defend the banners of their organization. The tournament involves 24 teams, divided into four groups of 6 teams. The first-place team in their group will receive a slot in the quarterfinals. Second and third-place teams will go to the first round of the playoffs, and the rest will go home.
Group stage matches will be played in a round-robin system (everyone plays everyone for points in the group), and group stage matches will be played in a BHO3 format. Playoffs will be a single elimination system (to one defeat) in a BO3 format, grand final BO5.
The third group of the sixteenth season of the EPL is about to start. This group could easily be called the "group of death". Group C will feature teams that are very close to one another in terms of their level of play, and the battle for the playoffs will be fierce! The group will open with an interesting showdown between two teams that are starved for wins and will be showing their best qualities. The Players Break has been over for two weeks now, and all the teams have had plenty of time to get in peak form for the start of their games.

The American organization Complexity signed the backbone of the team Extra Salt with the coach and several diversified players in the hope of development and long-term prospects. Of course, it did not bring quick positive results, and the team could not compete with the top teams in Europe. Also, in their region, they could not gain a foothold in the ranks of the top team. Nevertheless, because of their partnership agreements, there is a place in almost every event. Today the organization is gradually moving away from the American squad. For the new season, the team was strengthened by a European sniper - hallzerk- stronger than junior in this role.
In the new playing season, they already managed to play a few games and get a feel for their game. They successfully placed first in the North American qualifiers for RMR. It sounds serious when you don't consider that the teams they played against were mixes from America. They also played a tier-1 event where the best teams were invited, and Complexity only managed to win one match that ended up deciding nothing. Nevertheless, we can see the potential in the players. Perhaps they lack an experienced mentor to teach the team how to play.
The last substitution in the lineup was the arrival of Håkon hallzerk Fjærli in the sniper role.

Astralis
Almost all analysts prophesied changes in this particular squad during the transfer window. However, the team has maintained its integrity and is ready to show that it is not an outsider in the race for the world position on the professional stage. It was a firm decision, especially when the team did not show consistently good results and, more often, outright failed matches. Now it's time to prove the credibility of their decision and show that this particular squad can bring back the former glory of the once legendary tag.
The team and individual forms of the players change from match to match. Absolutely every one of the players can have a HooXi style match or an s1mple style match, and it's not clear what factor it depends on. However, Astralis has always had an excellent start in tournaments. They always beat their opponents on plus morale in the first stages very confidently but quickly gave up, and by the middle of the tournament, they didn't have a solution to win. Today will be their first match against the underdog of the group. Victory should come quickly to the Danish team.
The last change in the lineup was the arrival of Martin trace Heldt as head coach.
The best rating according to hltv is the 3rd in the world. Now it's #4.
