This Valorant Champions Tour season was a complete failure for the German organization. The squad failed to reach the main stage of the European region even once. In October 2021, the organization replaced two players and the head coach, after which BIG started with new colors. By the end of 2021, the squad finished in 3rd place at Kingdom Calling 5 and 6 and FEL Valorant Cup #3. The team also competed at Red Bull Home Groud #2 but failed to make it out of the group.
The Germans started the new season with open qualifications, where they have already shown their strength by knocking out such teams as Case Esports and LDN UTD. Having qualified for the main stage of the European qualification, BIG started confidently beating their opponents until Tem Vitality sent them to the bottom of the table. In the relegation round, the German side dealt their opponents only 1 map and took revenge on Team Vitality in the relegation round with a 3-0 win, earning them a ticket to the EMEA stage.
The EMEA stage itself was a failure for BIG. The Germans didn't manage to pick up a single map going into the Promotion phase, where they had to fight with the other teams for two slots in the next EMEA stage. BIG got off to a rocky start, losing to the Germans from FOKUS in the top draw. However, they beat the Turks from Surreal Esports 3-0 on maps in the lower bracket, thus advancing to the EMEA stage.
Before the start of the tournament, BIG management announced that Kaspe and gob b were leaving the organization to be replaced by musashi and luckeRRR, who would try to save the organization from a second failure this year. Their first opponent was Team Liquid, who easily defeated BIG with a score of 13:5 on the first map and 13:7 on the second map. In the second game week, BIG was able to give Guild Esports a three-map battle but lost 2-1. This week, the boys will meet Natus Vincere, who has not won any matches so far but is showing good results.
Natus Vincere: It could have been worse
Natus Vincere's journey last season began with the second leg. Then No Pressure, led by arch, managed to qualify to the EMEA stage, where they won the Masters Berlin, but only the victory in the opening match against Team Liquid was a significant achievement. After leaving the EMEA stage, Natus Vincere had no chance at the Valorant Champions, so they went for extended training and participation in smaller tournaments.
After not very good results, the organization decided to make a replacement. The organization leaves arch and is replaced by Jady. At the CIS qualifiers this season of the Valorant Champions Tour, we again saw those Natus Vincere who were at the start of the signing. Jady could bring firepower to the team, and Duno took over as captain.
At EMEA, NAVI faced LDN UTD in their opening match, who were favorites for the match. After selecting the maps, it was clear that either Natus Vincere would win the meeting 2-0 or lose it. And here, on the first map, there was simply a rout by NAVI. 11-1 after the first half. No matter how hard LDN UTD tried, they gave away this map. But it was more interesting at Haven. After 8:4 in the first half, in favor of LDN UTD, they switched to their strong side but took only 1 round there. 2-0 ended the encounter, bringing NAVI victory in the opening match. The match against Team Liquid was much more difficult, but it cannot be said that Team Liquid was the absolute favorite in this encounter. Having taken the NAVI pick with a score of 13:9, they gave up theirs with a score of 13:10, and on the third map, Natus Vincere started the comeback with a score of 10:4. However, this map ended with a score of 13:10 in favor of Team Liquid. Further on, there was only a 2-0 victory against BIG, who eventually finished in last place in the group.
After finishing in 4th place in the group, the organization went into a long silence, which was broken when the schedule for this tournament was announced. Then it became known that Jady was returning to Warface, and Zeddy took his place. And that's where two things come into play. On the one hand, Natus Vincere has lost one of the best shooters from the CIS region, who did a lot of work. However, on the other hand, they have got a playing captain who has shown a very good game back in the OBG. This replacement also relieves Duno of his captaincy duties, which have not worked out too well in his game. Natus Vincere's first opponent was the Turks from BBL Esports, who managed to win 2-1 on the maps in a hard-fought battle. The following week, Natus Vincere met M3 Champions, who also defeated them 2-1 on maps in a close encounter. This week, the boys will meet BIG, who has also gone winless but shows a weaker game.
