South Africa is coming into the game as the hosts and a dark horse to win the competition. They were shellshocked in the first game when they lost to Sri Lankan Women. The bowlers were on top and did a good job restricting Sri Lanka to only 129 runs but the batters disappointed them and were only able to score 126 runs in 20 overs meaning they do not have any points on the board. Sune Luss the Proteas captain scored 28 runs in 27 balls and was the top scorer for the team. Kapp, Ismail and Klerk all took one wicket each in the first game.
