It has really been a mixed season for the Texas Super Kings in the Major League Cricket this year, managing two wins and two losses in the decisive games. They got fortunate with two points from two rained-out matches that proved enough to get them into the knockout stages. Knowing that it has an eliminator lined up against MI New York, the Texas Super Kings would look toward using their last group match against SEO—who have lost five of their six games—to gain some momentum. In this game, a win will do much to help the confidence boost.
While Faf du Plessis has been superb with his record of one hundred and two half-centuries, separating him from the rest, his previous teammate in CSK, Devon Conway, has also done quite well for himself with 180 runs from five matches. But there's very little that the West Australians, the experienced Marcus Stoinis, and the inexperienced Aaron Hardie have done till now.
With the ball, it is only the left-arm pacer from Pakistan, Zia-ul-Haq, who has looked a menace to the opposition and has six wickets from five matches at an economy rate of 7.54—his best figures being 2/15. The bowling unit for Texas Super Kings has remained inconsistent and is far from looking stable, a situation that will be cause for concern as they move forward into the crucial part of the tournament.
Predicted Lineup for Texas Super Kings
Devon Conway (wk), Faf du Plessis (c), Aaron Hardie, Marcus Stoinis, Joshua Tromp, Milind Kumar, Calvin Savage, Dwayne Bravo, Mohammad Mohsin, Noor Ahmad, Zia-ul-Haq.
Seattle Orcas form
The Seattle Orcas have had a rollercoaster ride campaign this season. It started with them losing to MI New York, but they got back to winning ways in the very next game when they beat Los Angeles Knight Riders. Successive losses, as many as two to San Francisco Unicorns and one each from Los Angeles and Washington, ripped apart their aspirations for a passage into the knockout rounds. Their form has drastically fallen from last season's standing after securing the runner-up position, as they now lie at the bottom of the table. Even the win in their final game, against TSK, will not prevent them from taking the wooden spoon this year. At least they are hoping to end the season high.
Ryan Rickleton has been their best batsman with 225 runs in five games with a hundred and a fifty. Even though Quinton de Kock hasn't been at his best, explosive self, his contributions have been quite steady with 144 runs across six matches, including two fifties. Another high-profile player from South Africa, Heinrich Klaasen, hasn't repeated his form in the league as well, churning out 93 runs in six matches. Despite such struggles, the team has shown better coordination in its bowling, with less heralded players like Cameron Gannon and Harmeet Singh making telling contributions.
Seattle Orcas Predicted Lineup
Ryan Rickelton, Shehan Jayasuriya, Quinton de Kock (wk), Heinrich Klaasen (c), Aaron Jones, Shubham Ranjane, Keemo Paul, Imad Wasim, Harmeet Singh, Cameron Gannon, Lungi Ngidi.
