Despite a promising start to the season, the Rajasthan Royals have experienced a dip in their form over the past week, losing two consecutive matches and consequently, surrendering their top spot to the Chennai Super Kings and are now placed second on the points table.

The Royals have one of the strongest batting line-ups in this season's IPL. However, their batsmen have struggled to adjust to the slow pitches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, failing to chase a modest target of 155. This being only the second match in Jaipur, the surface could be different, and better for batting.

Nonetheless, the team is determined to put their losses behind them and get back to winning ways. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler have been in good form at the top of the order, while the middle order, consisting of Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmeyer, and Dhruv Jurel, is also pretty strong. Every batter in the RR lineup has contributed to a win and is full of confidence.

The Rajasthan Royals have been the most aggressive team this season, scoring the most runs in the powerplay and hitting the most sixes in the tournament.

The Royals have two world-class spinners in Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin, who will be looking to exploit the turn, while Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma will take up the seam duties.

Although the team has suffered two poor results, it does not change the fact that RR is one of the strongest teams this season and should find themselves in the playoffs.

As they head into a crucial match, the Chennai Super Kings have managed to string together four consecutive victories after gradually improving their form over the past few weeks.

Similar to their opponents, the Rajasthan Royals, CSK also possess a strong batting line-up, as evidenced by the fact that three batsmen scored half-centuries in their most recent match. Devon Conway has been particularly impressive, with four consecutive half-centuries under his belt, while his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad provides solid support at the top of the order.

Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane has transformed his game this season and is a dependable presence in the middle order, particularly at his familiar IPL venue of Jaipur. Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu, and MS Dhoni also bolster the batting unit. However, Dube will face a challenge when taking on RR's quality spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Tushar Deshpande, Pathirana, and Akash Singh provide support to the bowling attack, but it is not considered particularly strong. Nonetheless, MS Dhoni's leadership has helped them perform to the best of their abilities, and the emergence of Ravindra Jadeja as a regular bowler this season is not to be overlooked.

The pitch at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium poses a challenge for batsmen with its two-paced nature and lack of bounce, requiring them to settle in before taking big shots. Additionally, there is some grass on the pitch, which can cause the ball to skid. Chasing a target of more than 180 could prove difficult. Although there is optimism for an improved surface, the assumption is that it will be similar to the previous match. The expected temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius, making for a warm day. We expect RR to bounce back after a series of defeats.
