After performing poorly last season, the Chennai Super Kings have made a strong comeback, losing only 4 of their 12 matches and accumulating 15 points, which puts them in a prime position for a place in the playoffs. The team has a strong batting lineup with consistent performances from Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top, while Shivam Dube's six-hitting ability in the middle order has been impressive. Ajinkya Rahane has also contributed with some impressive knocks and all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali add depth to the batting. MS Dhoni's ability to maximize deliveries at the death adds to the team's strength.

The seamers have performed exceptionally well for the team, with Tushar Deshpande taking 19 wickets and emerging as a contender for the Purple Cap. Matheesha Pathirana has also been a valuable replacement for Dwayne Bravo in the death overs.
