Kane Williamson to be ruled out from the 2nd Test of India-New Zealand in Pune due to the injury sustained on the Lanka tour. India suffered against New Zealand in the test match in Bengaluru, making their lowest score in the first innings with 46. Even though India fared well in their second innings, they could not stop New Zealand from winning the game, as their total was 462.
It was really tough for India to score in the first innings against New Zealand's pace attack. They could only muster 46 runs in 31 overs. However, they displayed more satisfying batting conditions and increased in the second innings. The outstanding batting came from players such as Rishabh Pant, Sarfaraz Khan, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma. Ravichandran Ashwin did have a rather dismal day with the ball, claiming only 1 wicket.
With the batting order of the team unstable, this is the right opportunity for Shubman Gill to be included in the Indian team when they compete in the next match.
India Predicted Lineup
Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj
New Zealand form
New Zealand, under current form, has enjoyed great success. They even won a hard-fought match against India on Indian soil without the availability of their star batsman, Kane Williamson. Indian batting was easily submissive, hence not a significant miss for Kane. Ravindra did pretty well: it is he who first test century against India earned man of the match title; Devon Conway again became a tell-tale factor for the match; Will Young showed good form, both in terms of the solid starts in both innings. Though, the bowlers deserve full credit, especially Matt Henry and William O'Rourke, for having a solid performance that went through the order of Indian batsmen. New Zealand should remember that India rarely collapses like they did in that match, and hence, future pitches may not be kind enough to their pace attack.
New Zealand Predicted Lineup
Tom Latham (c), Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell (wk), Glenn Phillips, Matt Henry, Tim Southee, Ajaz Patel, William O'Rourke.
