In the third ODI, with the hosts in need of winning to keep themselves in the series, England's skipper Harry Brook scored his first ever century and led the team to victory. Important support came for him from Will Jacks, who scored 84 runs off 82 balls at number 3. Similarly, in one of the matches of the series, he also had scored more than 50 runs. In the first match, Jacks and Ben Duckett contributed quite remarkably to the overall score for England in a second-wicket partnership, but the England bowlers were less good at defending it after setting up what proved to be a good score of 315 runs for their first innings, as the visitors went on to win easily, thanks to still having 7 wickets in hand and 6 overs remaining. Jofra Archer, Matthew Potts, and Brydon Carse are the main bowlers for this series and will be crucial for the game at Lord's since the pitch is an easy one for fast bowlers. Philip Salt who has been an excellent opener recently failed to score significantly in this series, which will be the biggest worry for England. Jamie Smith at no. 5 has looked promising while Liam Livingstone brings an element of experience with him to the side. England have areas to improve but overall, they have a good potential team.
England Predicted Playing XI
Philip Salt, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Harry Brook (c), Jamie Smith (wk), Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell, Brydon Carse, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, Matthew Potts
Australia form
Australia have brought their best ODI players in this tour and all of them are going great guns. Travis Head, the man of the World Cup final, started the series with a match-winning 154 against a team deemed solid enough to bowl out Australia for under 150 in the chase of over 300. In the remaining games, three more players scored half-centuries and wicket-keeper batsman Alex Carey smashed successive fifties in the last two matches. This order will bat deep as well as strong with Glenn Maxwell coming in at number 7 and All-rounder Aaron Hardie at number 8.
The middle-order of Mitch Marsh, Steve Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne is going to be a headache for the English bowlers. The whole batting order has match-winning cricketers, and most of them are in good form. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have troubled the visitors in the past games with Hazlewood most likely being at his best on a pitch like this at Lord's. Sean Abbott and Cameron Green are the other main pacers who can give Australia those telling blows. Adam Zampa is likely to return for this match, enabling Australia to wrap up the series.
Australia Predicted XI
