Chennai was able to get back the core of the team which they wanted in the IPL auction. They have a good mix of young and old players on their side and are looking formidable side from the get-go. However, for the first match, they will be without Moeen Ali who will be missing this match due to visa issues. CSK's high ticket property Deepak Chahar will also be out for the majority of the tournament due to injury. CSK for the first time in IPL won't be having MS Dhoni as their captain. They are also fielding a new skipper Shreyas Iyer who has been in the incredible form of late. Venkatesh Iyer would be expected to become the main player in the middle order with the experience he had with the Indian team in the last year. It would be interesting to see how the West Indian duo of Russell and Narine fare in the new season.
