In the early morning of November 16th, two of the greatest representatives of women’s boxing, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, will hold a rematch, and all the crucial belts will be at stake. The fight will occur in the first welterweight women’s category, last ten rounds, and on the undercard of the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul boxing night.
The fighters met in the ring in the spring of 2022. The bout was very close, and the judges gave Katie Taylor a victory by split decision. They became the first female boxers to headline an evening of boxing at Madison Square Garden in New York, arguably the most legendary boxing arena. The fight was recognized as the greatest in professional women’s boxing history. Right now, Taylor is the outright bantamweight champion, while Amanda Serrano holds three bantamweight titles and accordingly moves up three weight classes for the rematch.

Absolute world champion Katie Taylor defeated Karen Elizabeth Carabajal after her bout with Serrano and then moved down in weight to fight Chantelle Cameron for the absolute bantamweight title. She lost to her in May 2023 but got a rematch in November. By the way, both fights took place in Ireland, her home country.
That defeat is the only one in her career. Katie’s style is not spectacular, but she technically smashes opponents, leaving them no chance.
Amanda Serrano
Serrano has a genuinely unique achievement that is unlikely to be repeated by anyone in the foreseeable future—she is the world champion in seven weight categories (Manny Pacquiao, however, had eight such titles, but we’re not comparing).
After the Taylor fight, Amanda Serrano became the undisputed featherweight champion, defeating Sarah Mahfoud, Erika Cruz, and Heather Hardy in 2023. In October, she competed in the first women’s boxing bout of twelve three-minute rounds in over fifteen years, defeating Danila Ramos. She later relinquished her WBC title due to the organization’s stance against twelve three-minute rounds in women’s boxing.
Expert Betting Tips
We think the fight will go the same way as the first time around. Left-handed Amanda Serrano will be more aggressive and look for a knockout. Still, Taylor’s skill and experience will again be enough to defend herself and win on the judges’ scorecards. She’ll be at her comfortable weight, knowing exactly what to expect from her opponent and being ready for it.
